Submersible Clean/Dirty Water Sump Pump, Great for Outside Swimming Pools, Ponds, or Indoor Basements and Floods | 1/2 HP | Utility

The pump seems well made. It certainly pumped muddy water out of my well housing. It is not obvious the best way to install it and the accompanying directions are worthless. The intake is about 2 or 3 inches above the bottom of the unit so if you set it on the floor it will leave 2 or 3 inches of water on the floor. I suppose that it needs to be set in a sump so that all the water flows into the sump and is pumped out. The float switch is also confusing. If you just leave it loose, the pump won’t turn on until the water is over the top of the pump. There is a notch that the instructions imply can be used to control at what water level the pump turns on, but it isn’t obvious how to do it. I just held the float up until all the water was removed except for the 2 to 3 inches. It seems like even if using a sump the unit is going to sit submerged in water when it shuts off and I seriously doubt if the plastic housing will really keep water out of the motor for long term if the pump sits in water continuously. On the other hand, this unit physically resembles most sump pumps so maybe I am ignorant about proper installation. Hopefully I will get educated before the rainy season returns next year.

I ordered this product for infrequent needs to pump out the water from a small above-ground garden pond to facilitate seasonal cleaning. It was described as having universal connection features, so I planned to connect it to a garden hose to transport the pond water to some convenient location. I found that the device has an outlet of 1.5 inch diameter, and no adapter to allow connection to a standard garden hose. I could not find a 1.5 hose or adapter, so the unit is completely useless to me. It looks like a good pump but intended for some uses other than mine. I will return the item.

this pum was bought to de water the top of my pool and so far it works great . the only gripe i have about it is that it doesnt come with an adapter to use a garden hose as the discharge, i had to find one for it. however, if you wanted to run a larger discharge hose this is ready to go . the float works perfect. great little pump and great bang for the buck .

We purchased this specifically to recycle the water in our inflatable water slide. We had to purchase some PVC fittings in order for it to connect to a garden hose and had to tie the sensor up for it to run continuously, but we are satisfied with the results. This is the first time we have used it, but five stars so far.

This pump works really well. For the price, you can’t beat it. I don’t use it for commercial use. The only thing that I would change is the attachment. The attachment that comes with it is a 1” threaded connection with a ribbed nipple to slide a hose onto. That’s fine for some but I think a connection for a water hose should come with the unit as well. I can see this unit being used with a water hose more than anything. Thinking about buying another one for the front of my house.

This came to us with missing parts so I had to immediately return and purchase a new one. The mfr should invest a little more time into quality control so people can actually use their product upon receipt

The sump pump arrived and had clearly been used and was broken. My daughter took a shot and put it in the pool despite its appearance. Unfortunately, they only gave a 30-day return window and this was a birthday gift that was unwrapped after the 30 days. So I spent $55 on a gift that was broken and usable.
