I rarely need to dust now! I have COPD and 4 cats. This machine is a little workhorse and has significantly reduced fur and dust particles floating by in my cottage.

Five dogs. That's what I'm dealing with. Between the fur, the dander, and whatever they track in from outside, my air quality could be a disaster—but this filter has been a lifesaver. I've been using the Germ Guardian for a few years now, and it still works like the first day I got it. The difference is noticeable within hours of putting in a fresh filter, especially during shedding season when tumbleweeds of fur are basically a daily occurrence. My only note is you do need to stay on top of replacing these regularly with that many pets, but that's expected. If you have multiple dogs or a heavy-shedding household, this is the filter to get.

This is the best hepa filter for my air purifier and I've tried many different brands now. It definitely has more pleats I've actually counted them on several different brands this has quite a bit more. BUT there pre-filter was thicker in the past. For the price they ask they should stick to the thicker pre-filters. Because of that I buy at the brands now.

We've been plagued with wildfire smoke of late, and I got this unit after trying a few generics (which I had to return as they wouldn't fit). The difference with this filter is absolutely awesome, and I would strongly recommend it. It easily absorbs smells from cooking and the difference is immediately noticeable. I'll definitely buy again.

cannot believe how much crap it manages to filter, very happy with the smell of clean air !Have dog and cat in the house picks up loose fur and animal smells are filtered, as well as usualhousehold odours.

I bought the GermGuardian Air Purifier in anticipation of adopting a cat. I have it running on low all day, every day - so I've had to change the filter sooner than the estimated 6 months. In my case, I usually have to change it after 4 or 5 months and I've been using the GermGuardian for 2 years now. My husband and I have allergies to dust and dander, so this filter has helped tremendously in keeping that under control. I also love to cook, so when I'm making a particularly aromatic dish, I turn my air purifier on the highest setting while cracking the window open slightly.Yes, the replacement filters are expensive, but it's a small price to pay for cleaner, fresher smelling air. The difference in air quality is noticeable when you contrast the moment the 'change the filter' indicator comes on, to the hour after replacing it with a new one. To put it into perspective as to how many impurities have been captured by the filter, have a look at the comparison photo of an old vs new filter (the old, dirty filter is bagged in plastic as to not allow the dust to escape). It's alarming to know what we would be breathing in without the use of this air purifier filter.
