Great for volume-less thin hair
I have very thin hair that tends to go flat quickly, even after the best blowouts and professional styling. I decided to give this crimper a try, and I’m happy to say it really delivers on volume! It’s a great choice for adding that much-needed lift to thin hair. That said, I’m not sure what they mean by "extra shine." Since the crimper is best used on the under layers of your hair to keep the crimped texture hidden, the shine isn’t really a noticeable feature. But for what I needed—volume—it works perfectly. Overall, I’m happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone struggling with flat, thin hair. Just keep in mind its best use is for creating volume rather than a polished or shiny finish.

Very easy to use
Got this after putting off getting one for years, was scared to order one online so I was trying to find one in person...which proves to be a lot more difficult than I thought. But this works great, I got it to style some wigs and it's great, even at the lowest setting (I'm scared being a newbie). The design is nice and sleek, feel like it'd be pretty easy to pack up too if needing to travel. Very easy to use, coming from a beginner, and helps give some volume to wigs!!

It gets really hot, be careful
I use this to volumize my roots. I have flat Asian hair so this gives me instant volume. But the crimps are significantly more noticeable compared to my much more expensive GHD crimper. I prefer slight volume boost so I only use this one when I need reall really big hair. On most day I would reach for my GHD one. You would need to take time to use this Bed Head crimper since it’s small and doesn’t hold a lot of hair at a time. So it’s best to section really thin layers of hair from the temple up to your crown to get the best look. It gets hot so I mostly use the medium setting, too afraid to burn my hair on high. But really depends on the texture of your hair, the instruction slip is quite clear so take your time to read it. I’d normally do 3 crimps (3 inches) on my head from the roots, gives me great volume. Overall, this crimper helps you achieve a very dramatic look. For the price it’s great!

Simple Hair Volume Hack that WORKS!
I was skeptical about using a crimper for hair volume. I’m so glad to be wrong! I have very fine, straight hair. I’ve tried every product I can think of. In general, I try to minimize the number of chemicals I use in products. My hair is so limp, I probably would’ve used anything to give it volume. I started using Bumble and Bumble Thickening Full Form Mousse the same time that I started with the Little Tease. After washing my hair, I add the mousse to my damp hair. After I dry my hair, it kind of has the texture of hair that’s been sprayed with hairspray then brushed through, so it gives me a little bit of stiffness that I think works really well with the crimping, without making me look like I have huge hair. I don’t find it sticky at all, and I think it works really well with the crimper. (Photos show before using the Little Tease and after. I had already dried my hair with the BB Mousse in the first pic. Third pic shows how I crimp it.) In the after pic, I’ve also flat-ironed the ends of my hair. The Bed Head Little Tease is so easy to use! I use alligator clips to hold back the top layer of hair and crimp 2 to 3 layers underneath on both sides of my part. I don’t do this under the hair on the very front of my head, because it would show around my face. It takes less than five minutes to do this. I actually like my hair now! It was damp this morning and I went out in it without an umbrella. My hair had no idea 😊. It didn’t get frizzy or a limp. I think the combination of the product with the crimping helped with humidity as well. For the price that you would spend on one salon quality volumizing product, the little tease is so worth buying if your hair is fine and limp like mine. Some people complained about the plates not fitting together well. I find if I clamp the crimper closed with my other hand, the plates do seem to kind of shift until they come together, but I don’t know why that’s big deal. It doesn’t affect the machine working at all. I’m glad I didn’t spend a bunch money on the other hair crimper that is supposed to be for volume. This works great for 20 bucks!

Crimp underneath and have beautful full hair always!!!!
This has changed my life forever!!! I saw an add for a box like crimper for volume and then read online a normal crimper can do the same. I have longer fine hair, even with layers and roll brushing and every trick in the book falls flat especially in humid summers. This crimper has literally changed my hair forever. My hair is usually flat to my head, with underneath crimping it looks like I have thick hair, almost like its super full. Not 80's huge, not frizzed out - like perfect, full, instagram, hair. I couldn't believe how nice it lays and how full it stays. A little bit of hairspray and I am good all day 8-12 hours at the hospital working.... It is an extra step in my routine, but I will NEVER not crimp underneath my hair again. The trick is to crimp sections underneath your hair leaving enough hair on top to cover the crimped hair underneath. There are plenty of videos on how to master this online - youtube or pinterest. I tried it a few times before to get the hang of it - not leaving enough hair on top to cover allows the crimped parts to show through, but it isn't super noticeable even if they do. Either way I LOVE THIS. My long thin, fine hair is amazing now - super full and lays wonderfully. This is supposed to be healthier for your hair as well compared to ratting. My other trick is washing your hair upside down in the shower - conditioner first then shampoo. I have had the fullest, fluffiest, non flat hair ever - even in the summer, even when I visited miami.... I will never not crimp underneath again.

Loved..at first
I loved at first because it did give my hair volume however even on medium and then low heat, I started to notice hair was falling out. I saw it on the counter and floor but I always lose strands so didn’t think anything of it. Then after a few weeks input my hair up into a messy bun and saw all the breakage (because you only use this crimped under the hair for volume). Oh my goodness exactly where it was crimping was all broken off. So much damage. But it was happening little by little and it’s been cold so I hadn’t worn my hair up in a while. Sad to say, it’s going in the garbage. No hot tool should cause that kind of breakage on low heat on hair that has product on it for protection and though I don’t do hair anymore and am a teacher, I am a licensed hair stylist. I would never use this product on a client or myself or family member because the volume isn’t worth the hair breakage. Shame too since it’s a great idea in theory

Better than I expected!
Works incredible. This is from my first attempt, I just need to learn how to style it but I'm very happy with the results. My hair is very fine, so I used the medium setting, I just hope I don't burn my hair and that it lasts a couple days. I usually put a heat protector serum on the mid length and ends but now I'm going to have to find a spray to protect the roots. Using the crimper is an extra step and a little time consuming but I imagine it will get easier and faster over time. My hair is super flat on top and gets oily fast. Volume from blowdrying, volume sprays, and dry shampoo doesn't last. Teasing falls out unevenly as well. Extensions help a little to fill in some areas and to look like I have more hair, but don't do much for the crown. I am so much happier with these results. Glad I purchased!

Great for Cosplay Wigs
I purchased this for crimping my cosplay wigs and it works great! I wish that this brand made a larger crimper with the same teeth size as this one, though. It’s hard to find a wide crimper with at least 8 teeth on it, which is ideal for crimping wigs since it cuts down on time. (This brand does have a 2-inch crimper option available, but the teeth are larger than what I like to use for cosplay wigs.) I use the Medium heat setting for my heat-resistant cosplay wigs, and then I comb the strands out with a thick bristle brush after each pass. I like that this crimper doesn’t overheat where your hand goes, because in the past I’ve gotten crimpers on here that heat up so much that my hand starts to burn just holding it!
