I bought this product with a lot of uncertainty, but I loved it. We light the barbecue in a few minutes, before it took a long time to light it but now it is ready in a few minutes, so I recommend it.

I don’t usually respond to review requests, but this product is great. Totally fit for purpose. I’d have no hesitation recommending it if buying another. Say goodbye to fire lighters, lighter fluid and newspapers. This is the way to go.

It gets so hot I melted the aluminium shielding !!! does not work for weeding the patio.

The trick is to hold it nice and close to the charcoal until it's really lit up, then pull it away a bit and let the blast furnace take hold. Warning, once the charcoal is going in blast furnace mode it's hot enough to start melting the aluminium guard on the end of the wand, doesn't affect operation if you do though. It's really nice having a barbecue with zero accelerant residue, just the flavour of the coals. Recommended.

What did I do before this? Absolutely brillian. The days of faffing trying to get the bbq going are over. This is a beast. I pop in a couple of fire lighters and this fires up bbq in minutes. About half the price of the Looftlighter and I can't see the justification for paying double. This is great.

It's a waste of time and energy. Only good if charcoal is already lit and you want to give it a boost but you could easily replace that with a fan too to boost the fire... pointless

My husband is an avid slow barbecue-r, he makes incredible brisket, pastrami, etc. It takes him hours to get the coals hot enough to cook and a lot of cursing. For nearly a year he has been talking about getting something similar to this product but the one he's seen was ~£60. For valentines, I decided to take a punt and get him this "budget" fire starter. He finally got to use it yesterday (April 2022) and is buzzing, he had the coals lit within 3 minutes to grill some burgers. Energy-wise, it didn't hit out smart metre too much... he was showing it off to our son for 6 minutes and it cost about 10p (since the price hike of 1st April). It sounds like a mini jet engine / old school hairdryer but it packs a punch. Not sure how I'll top this next year but I have a happy - albeit verging on pyromania - husband. A great purchase and hope it lasts.

It does work but it's noisy and takes a while to get the charcoal going. To be completely honest I used it twice, now it's in the back of the garage gathering dust since I discovered quick lighting charcoal bags. You can use it to kill weeds, I tried it but lost the will to live after about 10 mins
