THESE ARE NOT TWEETERS, OR SUBS! The people that are calling these tweeters and even subs, have NO CLUE what they are talking about. THESE ARE MIDRANGE SPEAKERS, They are designed to function in the midrange frequecies, thats mid his and mid lows. For lows you need a sub woofer, for highs you need REAL TWEETERS, these are NOT tweeters. I have installed these in two 99 model miatas and there isnt a better speaker that fits the factory hole. These are loud and do exactly what I wanted them to do, they are made with hi quality materials and are loud as hell. The negative reviews dont know what they are doing apparently. These have to be tuned for MIDS, they arent meant to be full range speakers. When you run mids through them at the right power level then they perform as they are advertised and then some. I use a pkir of tweeters for the highs, these for the mids and a 8in sub in a footwell box and i get loud crisp and thumping audio so loud you cant stay in the car with it at the highest levels. I use a 400 watt 4 channel amp for my mids and highs, and a 300 watt mono amp for my sub. Set it up right and you will LOVE these speakers

I have 4 of these in my 2010 Corolla. You can install them without cutting by spacing the rear speakers 3/8" and the doors 1". There's nothing you can throw at these that will make them perform poorly. They are crystal clear all the way to max volume. Right now I'm only pushing 75w to each of these, and it's way more than enough. You will need a pair of tweeters to fill out the highs, as these are only good from 80Hz to 5KHz, and definitely highpass your amp.

Honestly, I expected a lot more out of these.... they may need their own enclosure for proper bass response.... I have them in the doors of my 04 colorado std cab. they are powered by a hefty JL Audio MHD 600 4 channel amp. I am running them with JL audio ZR series crossovers and tweeters. I had to increase the brightness of the tweets because the mid-freqs started to overpower them. They sound good. Not audiophile quality.

I purchased these mid-woofers specifically because they are midbass woofers. Finding midbass drivers in 8" is rather difficult, as 8" drivers are typically woofers and subwoofers. Overall, I am pleased with the build construction of the speaker and its appearance. The spring loaded terminals are also nice and convenient. I think the problem is with the aluminum phase plug design. One, I would imagine that the exposed voice coil design could be a long-term flaw as it can allow dust to enter the crevice. But second, the phase plug seems to negatively effect the upper mid-range sound. Its hard to describe other than the sound emitted at the upper frequencies are just harsh, very harsh. I was thinking it may have to do with the phase plug being metal as opposed to a standard dust cap, I'm not sure. I will say however, that the drivers handle the lower frequencies really well, bass response is excellent and you'll have a hard time making them distort. So, rather than selling the drivers I ended up using them as a woofers in one of my other speakers. What originally was to be used in the door of our Mazda Miata, has now been relocated into the woofer enclosure of our Martin Logan Aerius home speakers. Fortunately, the Aerius woofers were 4-ohm and from my testing, appear to work really well with that speaker's enclosure -- especially since they are no longer producing any frequencies over 450hz.

If you need an 8 inch speaker that will totally ring your ears and sound clear as day this is the one. Made me smile as soon as i hooked it up.

It's very much just ok. If I could I would return the product, goes loud enough but I find it tinny sounding, I would go elsewhere for the price forsure there is much better.
