Technics: Headshell for Technics 1200 - SILVER

Very light weight and preforms perfectly, but very expensive.

Blends beautifully with the chrome tonearm, and includes the 4g weight which is easily removed. I am using in conjunction with an Ortofon 2M Red on a 1200Mk2. Excellent results. Somehow, although the output level is rated the same between my previous setup (Concorde cartridge with Ortofon Night Club stylus, 5mV spec), I am now getting a proper output level through my preamp, whereas the previous cartridge/stylus was at at least 6dB lower. Weird. Tried two different model stylii on the other headshell, another headshell altogether, and they both gave the same result.

I have a Technics SL-1900 I bought new in the mid-70s, and it has been my main turntable throughout the years with very little problems. While a bit more than a budget TT back in the day, it more than holds its own against many of today's entry- and mid-level tables. I was in need of an extra headshell to be able to swap cartridges on the fly, and I wanted a genuine Panasonic part rather than a generic. This more than fit the bill.

Perfect replacement for original Technics headshell. Weight (4 gm) threads into headshell when using cartridge/stylus for 78 rpm records and is easily removable for use with 33 & 45 rpm records. Headshell wiring is pre-installed and ready for attachment to universal 4-pin cartridges. Cartridge mounting hardware (screws, spacers, etc.) must be obtained separately, usually supplied with the cartridge since cartridge shapes and sizes vary considerably. Easily plugs into S-shaped Technics tonearms Wonderful way to keep alternate cartridges available for instant plug-in to meet performance needs. Perfect match to my Technics SL-1700 and SL-5100 Turntables.

I have a Technics SL1200G turntable,did not see a special head shell for this model.Decided to give this a try, it worked great, I bought a 2nd one.It worked just the same as original,

This is an $80.00 technics headshell but it's the same exact thing as an Audio Technica headshell without the word techniques on it for $20.00. Is the word technics worth $60.00 to you. Not me. Maybe for $40.00 it might. Not for $80.00.

This headshell is a perfect match for my Technics SL-1200MK2 turntable. There is more to be desired with the packaging. My packaging was cracked with the product protruding out.

The name Technics is a God of the DJ industry! Anything with the name technics or even Panasonic is well worth buying. These headshells work best in with the Shure M44-7's. If you can find these headshells, buy them! The DJ industry needs technics to keep producing turntables and DJ equipment. Closing down technics was a huge downfall in the DJ industry.

Quality headshell. Well made and doesn't feel cheap. Don't need the weight but it's easily removed.
