SeaSucker Trike/Recumbent Bike Rack

I have a Catrike Dumont and it fits perfect on my Hyundai Elantra even with the sunroof. I am completely satisfied with the SeaSuckers. Perhaps even better since I didn't need to put a hitch on my car.

Full disclosure -- we bought this but returned it without installing, because:1. Enclosed instructions said not to use with a trike over 40 lbs, and ours is ~55 lbs with the electric upgrade (50lbs with battery removed). The product description on Amazon, and also on the Seasucker website, says nothing about a weight limit for trikes to be used with this rack -- deceptive advertising.2. The wheel attachment design seems to be sized for 26 or 27 inch wheels, whereas 90% of the trikes I see on the road use 16 or 20 inch wheels, especially for the two front wheels. The typical 20 inch wheel does not sit securely in the mount, meaning more of the load is taken by the velcro strap and making the design less robust than it could be.3. The wheel attachment design seems to require that at least one of the suction mounts be removed in order to remove the trike from the car's roof. This is an unfortunate extra hassle that is not a feature of the Seasucker bicycle mounts.I have no experience with the suction mount system as described, and no reason to doubt its efficacy and durability. It's too bad that the other design features are not well suited to the trike mount application.

Functionally, this rack works great! Suction cups hold a tight seal (given they're clean... They are super picky about that!) and the trike is rock solid.After two uses however, I've discovered dozens of small scratches on my sunroof, and somehow they managed one huge scratch nearly 6in long. I'm careful when lifting the trike to make sure that only the suction cups touch the roof, so somehow they managed to cause the gouge.I'm not happy and will no longer be ruining the sunroof on my brand new car.

This does not work for Catrikes at all. We had to send it back.

Works great for transporting trike on top of the car. Eazy to use. Additional straps would be good ideal so your trike doesn't fly off

Very easy to use and very impressive the first few times I have used them. I hope they do not suffer from fall off in performance from, for example, rubber perishing. The system is expensive and only if its effectiveness is enduring will it prove good value......so far, so excellent!
