OSD Audio SP70T 70V Commercial Speaker Transformer, 5W to 20W Taps, 3 Pack

The transformers were perfect. I redid an install where they had twleve speakers running from one larger transformer. After I redid the wiring, we had one transformer per speaker unit. this got rid a lot of distortion which was in the older version of this system.

This transformer turned my $20 Atlas Sound speaker sound quality from a $20 speaker sound quality with no bass made it sound like a $400 speaker with JBL bass now there’s no distortion and I tapped it at 15 W and it hits real hard like I want it to love this product so much. I’m buying this every time I need to install a speaker.

I ordered several of these to retrofit a client's existing 8 ohm speakers into a 70v system. They were simple to use, and have been working great for a few months now. No complaints. They were also a great price and came quickly, which was a huge benefit. We were on a short timetable trying to set everything up before the business had its grand opening.

This transformer is physically very large and heavy. This made it unsuitable for my project as a piezo driver in a very low power portable speaker system, but it worked well for its intended use later.

We have some old speakers in the nursery and cry room at church. One quit working and I wasn't sure I would find a replacement transformer/ This was a perfect replacement. The old transformer had no markings on it and was paper wrapped. The paper was torn and missing in places. This new one was marked very well and was easy to replace the old one. The wire size is 16 gauge.

I used these to convert 8-ohm ceiling speakers to 70-volt operation for use in a small restaurant. They are heavy enough to cause me to believe they can handle the rated power without saturation at low frequencies. In my install I used lower wattage taps. The speakers sound great using the 70-volt system.

the performance is great, even at the 20W tap. I am using it to drive a little 8 Ohm speaker on the 20W tap driven by Lab.Gruppen 70V amp.

We upgraded our church sound system to 70v by adding more 70v speakers and had to adapt a 4 ohm speaker to match the new 70v amp. This transformer gave us the adaptability to match the regular speaker to the rest of the 70v speakers by providing different taps/watt drivers. Since it was a 4 ohm speaker to start with, we ran the speaker at 5 watts to match the rest of the speakers in the system.

It arrived reasonably fast and seems to be good quality.

I've seen these transformers selling for as much as $50, so these were a real bargain - I'd buy more if they were available.
