I studied long and hard on whether to purchase this fine heavy duty Lee Cast Iron Breech lock press. I have used many presses over the last 40 years and still own some of the finest ones made. I was introduced to the unique breech-lock system 2 years with their hand press. The additional cost of bushings is somewhat of a downside but outweighed with speed of die change over. I have replaced all of Lee's rubber "O" ring lockrings due to their instability and lack of accurate repeatable settings. Hornady's side lock clamping and Forster rings are far better and do not mar the 7/8"X14 threads due to frequent adjustments. My use of the Breech Press was another press for more mundane belling,universal decapping,expander mandrels and case forming of pistol and 300 B.O. This usage for me reduces the number of needed breech lock adapters. The only fault that I have found is that the shell holder mounting slot is pointed to the right of the press opening sharing the same slot to allow the primer kicker arm to deflect spent primers into the scrap tube. I find that by using the shell holder opening pointed to the left during use with a right mounted handle will sometimes push the shell holder to the right thus dismounting the shell holder. I wish that Lee would modify the right sided shell holder installation slot to the middle and re-mill the area and still keep the primer deflector as is.All in all 5 stars for sure and a great product. The ram is solid with no sloppiness at the top of stroke.
