How are they packed. Are they already unleashing the moisture while sitting on the shelves??????

No, the humidity package is sealed. You have to take the packet out of its container. The large bag itself is not very durable. The zip seal on the bag was broken within a week. I do not recommend the bag itself. Just use a ziplock bag or a Humidor. The humidity packs are fantastic! Not the zipper bag. I hope this helps.

Can you replace the Boveda element?

Yes. Once the small humidity packet begins to dry/get hard, you can simply replace it with a fresh packet. These are available at many cigar shops, and online, either as singles or in packages of multiple.

It says lasts one year. Is that the pouch itself or the packet?

Hey that would be the pack itself, although that’s dependent on factors like the environment around you, how often you open they bag etc but should be good for a year if you throw cigars in the bag and leave them. The bag is a sort of plastic so it’s air tight but the bag itself will outlast the pack for sure.
