Astoundingly simple
I have a rain-bird sprinkler system that was installed by the previous owners of the house. It has some 36 zones and two controller boxes. It's 10 years old and the rain sensors were no longer functional. I looked at updating the whole system to something with weather control as it all seems pretty old tech but the cost is prohibitive. I was about to replace the rain sensors but the old "expanding cork" technology seemed so unreliable and to have a limited life expectancy I wanted something better. I looked at linking to my existing home automation but that would require programming to sense weather and rain fall and use a WiFi, z-wave or zigbee relay - again not ideal. I came across this and realized for half the price of replacing two rain sensors I could control the entire system with weather based control. Seemed too good to be true.Ordered and came as expected with instructions that seemed pretty simple - but indicated using the relay to disable the 24v supply to the system (which would mean that I couldn't override with the existing override manual switches). Called support and was answered immediately by "Ian" who clearly understands the system and we discussed how to use the existing sensor wiring (which I think should be shown as an option on the install instructions). Took all of ten minutes to replace the old rain sensors and control both of the rain-bird control boxes. Connected both controllers to the single Sprinkl conserve, tapping into the 24v power from one of the controller boxes and wiring the sensor connections in parallel. I was worried whether something so simple could work - found the WiFi promptly (had a couple of attempts with my password ) and everything appeared to be hooked up. Despite the weather forecast for today we had an unexpected heavy thunderstorm and I was happy to see the system move to no watering mode for tomorrow. I will see if it works in not activating the sprinklers - but certainly appears to be working as advertised. Looking forward to not seeing the sprinklers turn on in the rain and without the cost and labor involved of a full control box change.

This product will conserve water and save me money...
I didn't want to buy a WiFi connected sprinkler controller to replace my existing controller, but wanted something to be Internet-connected and help my existing system conserve water in addition to the rain sensor that is already installed. I searched for products for a few hours and decided that the Sprinkl Conserve would best satisfy my requirements. The Conserve was easy to install. My controller was located outdoors, so I installed the Conserve in a weatherproof electrical outlet box next to the controller. On a Saturday morning during setup of the Conserve, I had a problem connecting the it to my WiFi network. I sent a message to Sprinkl support and got a response within minutes. Tech support was awesome and the problem turned out to be that my iOS version was too old (I hate updates). Updating to the latest version of iOS fixed the problem and the remainder of the setup was very easy. The Sprinkl app User Interface is very nice.

Great product concept and startup company
You have to know what this thing is and what it can do. The Conserve is a "smart" rain sensor that can be piggy-backed to your existing sprinkler controller. Sprinkl also sells a controller. Conserve connects to your home WiFi. The "smart" part is using hyperlocal weather stations to measure local rainfall AND using past and predictive weather pattern to allow or block your sprinkler system. This far better than the "dumb" rain sensors which uses a simple open or close circuitry governed by water soaked material. WiFi connection also gives you smart phone app control over your sprinkler controller. What makes this really attractive is that the company is a startup, and its technical support staff is immediately responsive. Once connected to WiFi, your geographical location is assigned a nearby weather station. However, a major weather station is usually selected, but this may be several tens of miles removed from your house. Localized thunderstorms may affect you house significantly differently than the weather station which may be some distance away. This can be mitigated by using smaller hyperlocal weather station closer to you. Sprinkl tech support will find these and allow you to select a closer station.

Easy to Install and AWESOME Customer Support
We ordered and received our SPRINKL Conserve a few weeks ago.Over the weekend we received a large amount of rain and the next morning we realized that our irrigation system was running when it should not have due to the parameters we set in the app.I emailed customer support at 6:30 AM Sunday, received a response and worked with Noel over the next couple of hours to diagnosis and fix the issue through email. The issue WAS NOT with the Conserve but with the weather station that it was pulling data from. All told, we were set up to pull data from another weather station within a few hours on a Sunday morning.Great Job SPRINKL! Great customer service wins every time.
