Best Hair Clay Ever
I have been using this product for over a year now and it simply couldn’t be any better. My dad recommended it to me because of how easy it was to use and how it was free of any harmful ingredients, so I started using it, and you can simply use this clay for any hair style possible. You can use it for a side part, middle part, or anything you can imagine. I have flat 1A hair that is very difficult to style because it is so straight, but using the clay almost makes my hair go from 1A flat to almost in the 2’s due to the volume and waviness it gives within seconds. The clay emulsifies fairly easy in your hands and it is easy to put on, I think it works best when you lightly put it onto the hair rather than roughly scrubbing it onto the hair, but after touching your hair and getting it to the desired style, you are set for the day. The smell isn’t too strong but it smells very good. I also like putting it onto slightly damp hair, not wet, and not dry, just in the middle but closer to dry than soaking wet. The hold strength is very good for me, but that can definitely vary depending on your hair type. Despite looking pretty expensive, it is definitely worth it, I say this because it comes in a good sized bottle, and you also don’t need to use a lot at all, but that depends on your hair length. One tin usually lasts me around 3-4 months, which I am more than happy with. One of the biggest negatives on other reviews I have looked at is how the waxy feeling stays on your hand for the day, and that can’t be further from the truth, once you use the clay, you need to wash your hands, as you should need to, but after that one wash, the scent and feel fully goes away. So for me, that is not a problem. I would recommend this for people with straight hair who have a hard time styling with other clays, because of my amount it thickness and hold it gives in your hair. The best hair product I have ever used, I will never need another clay again.

Must try. It’s worth it!
I really like this. The ingredients are what really drew me to wanting to try this product out. I’ve been trying to be mindful as to what products I use on my body. There are just a handful ingredients in this product and they work! I have straight Asian hair so having a hair product that can keep my hair styled through out the day M-F 8-5 is important. Now this isn’t a product that will be sleek and shiny. This is matte and will produce more of a relaxed but styled look. This means you can run your fingers through your hair throughout the day. This product feels light in your hair and allows you to restyle your hair in the event of wind or when you take your shirt off. I usually start with towel dried hair and use a moderate sized amount and rub between my hands. I use a comb to style it at first but throughout the day I end up running my fingers through my hair. Washing out is easy as well. While it doesn’t wash out easily with water, shampoo and conditioner will take it out. I live in Texas so the humidity is intense. This product stayed in my hair with no problem. I also had the opportunity to use this product in Vegas as well. With both wet and dry heat, the product held my hair together. My only complaint is that if your hair is greasy, this will not hold up. I typically wash my hair once a day, but when I went two days without washing, it did not hold up and my hair constantly would fall down. I even reapplied twice. Nonetheless, Jack Henry clay pomade is a product you should really consider!

RAW REVIEW
Non greasy, leaves a decent hold but leaves hair feeling papery. Personal dislike is the smell, makes my hair smell and would spray cologne near my head to hide smell

WORST Clay EVER
I’ve tried a lot of different clay products and this one would be rated a ZERO if possible. The product is fairly hard out of the jar. Once you warm up the clay in your hands by rubbing your hands together it is more pliable but it leaves a long term waxy residue on your hands. I had to wash my hands 5 times with soap and the residue was still there. I then had to use a towel scrub the wax off my hands. When it came time to wash it out of my hair, I had to wash my hair 4 times with shampoo and it still felt like a waxy residue was left behind. I’d stay away from using this product. You might as well use candle wax instead. I’d highly recommend the Aveda clay instead. Doesn’t leave a reside and it’s the best clay in the market.

Takes some getting used to, but I like it!
This is an interesting product. It feels very greasy at first, and can cause hair to tangle if you use too much. A little goes a long way. I've had good results using just a touch of it on dry hair, blow drying, and then styling with a bit of "boost powder" by American Crew. The clay does a good job of hydrating the hair and making it appear a bit thicker and healthier. Even after washing it out my hair looks and feels better than it did previously. It took me a few days to figure how to use it best, and and you may need to supplement it with additional products, but I do like it.

Its pretty great really
I used it for the first time and it went well. I did it for my mullet. The smell isn’t close to bad. Super simple to use, Grab an amount you need for your hair and go to styling it. No skin irritation. Still have the hair be able to shape up even during work hours

Good hold, but oily
Hold is good, but it has an oil in it that doesn’t come off my hands easily. Pillow cases are showing the oil as well.
