I am not a wood worker! I wanted to make small Christmas trees for my grandkids at Christmas and I struggle cutting boards with my circular saw. This Miter saw worked awesome! It was simple to set up and use. It is lightweight, the cuts were accurate. It was easy to move from cutting one angle to another. Plenty of power to cut the boards I was using. The dust collector is small but does an adequate job. I would highly recommend this saw.

This is a nice miter saw that does everything I need it to do. I have used it on LVP and trim. The blade that comes with it is OK. I purchased a replacement but have not installed it yet. I have some more LVP to cut and I think that is the what make the blade dull for wood. The saw is sturdy and works great on my B&D Workmate portable work area. I use the orange bench dogs and the saw stays in place. I do my own home maintenance and help out friends and family. The saw seems sturdy enough and I think it would hold up great for light contractor use - a handyman who needs to use it occasionally.

Love this saw. I bought it to trim out an old home we bought and have been very please with it's power, speed and safety features. It was very easy to assemble out of box and adjustments are available for just about any angle you might want. It fits on a relatively small table so the size is right but you may need another table or some sawhorses to support long trim pieces. I felt it was a great value compared to other brands. In full disclosure, I had an earlier model of this saw and loved it but it's motor went south on me after a few months. Metabo does have a long warranty and will repair it, but the service centers were difficult for me to find when not in a large city. I ended up buying this one to replace it and will warranty the older one when I get near a big city.

Bought as a gift for hubby! VERY VERY happy with this purchase so far. Haven't used it a WHOLE lot, but love the lighted work area, cuts nice and straight, it's light weight enough to pick up and take where needed! They color is fun and he loves green. Would recommend, great tool, great price!

I can't give a complete review yet as I have just received it. I can say it arrived considerably ahead of schedule which was really nice. It was well packaged and I have already installed it in my workbench and checked it for 90 degrees true setting and it is true which tells me the cuts will be accurate. It is much lighter than my old one so it is easier to work with. One issue is it came without the blade wrench so I couldn't get my fine cutting blade on it. But I believe it is just a 16MM Allen wrench which I probably have somewhere. I think it is going to be really good. Anxious to get it all set up and start making things.

I am very happy with the saw, it arrived well packaged. The saw was perfectly square out of the box, miter, bevel, table and fence all square. The cuts are accurate, very smooth, no tearing or splinters on pine and oak. Be aware that on first use the motor smelled and it ran uneven - after about 10 minutes the odor went away and it ran smooth. I believe the brushes needed to seat on the armature. I wanted to make some lap joints on 3/4"x3/4" stock and it first it seemed like there was no depth adjustment but upon further review I found that Metabo did thread and installed a set screw where you would find the adjustment on more expensive saws. I replaced the set screw with a thumbscrew to make adjustments easier and it works on small pieces of wood but not across the width of a 2x4. I used bolts going thru a small wood block from under my Pony bench and secured the saw to the table with thumbscrews. I added some pictures I hope are found helpful.

While I really wanted a dual bevel, sliding compound miter saw, I needed one immediately, and it would be 2 weeks before shipping. So I looked at other options, and this one caught my eye. I read about Metabo being a German company, and the HPT has to do with a well-known Japanese company. Very impressive credentials! It's a single bevel. Which means if you want to cut angles from the other direction, you'll have to turn your board over. The sliding thing I mentioned is so you can cut wider boards than you might otherwise. This one will cut a 6 inch wide board, and maybe even an 8 inch. But here's the thing: it does exactly what I needed it to do, and I got it from Amazon in 2 days! It's a great saw, and $150 cheaper than the one I wanted! Great deal! I'm very happy with it.

I used it to cut lumber for making bookshelves. Plenty of power and I like the shadow line for showing where to cut. Very little assembly required. And I was surprised that the dust bag collected most of the dust. Good value as I got it on sale needs to be mounted to a table or stand for stability

Highly rated and well worth the money. Accurate cuts and the 10" blade cuts everything I need.
