App usage only!! Not Swann DVR compatible!!
We recently purchased a Swann 2k Series 10 camera 16CH 1080P system from BB. After the firmware update, the DVR became capable of an extra 4 IP Channels. Now we have an ability of 16CH hardwired, plus 4 IP Channels. 20CH total. The 4 IP Channels of this Swann DVR can only be recognized when the IP Cameras are connected to the router, and the DVR connected to the router as well. We own indoor IP cameras that work wireless or direct connection to the router. We tested these cameras and they connected to the Swann DVR after initial setup. Our indoor IP Cams are just that, indoor only. We want to add a couple outdoor wireless cameras on our garage to replace our Ring Floodlight camera. We dont like the app only access to the Ring, and we especially dont like the lack of uninterrupted 24/7 live view. Ring times out after several minutes, even while being viewed on a PC. Plus you pay to view recorded footage. Our indoor cameras worked with anything with a screen. After we purchased our Swann Camera/DVR package, we installed the wired cameras where we wanted them. We have our DVR's HDMI output connected into a powered "HDMI over ethernet splitter" that allows us to view our cameras live view on multiple TV's throughout our house. Picture your livingroom with your 60 inch TV as main, and a 32 inch TV next to it showing your cameras at all times. This is how we have that set up in 3 most used rooms. Livingroom, Man Cave, and Bedroom. The DVR is connected to internet as well.Getting back to these Swann Wireless Cameras we bought, we wrongly assumed that these cameras, being connected into our wireless network, would work with our Swann DVR via the available IP Channels. These do not work that way. Now, we realize that there is an app that partners with these Wireless Swann Cameras, but no where in our recollection did we see anything that boldly stated the incompatibility with these particular cameras and Swann's very own DVR system we purchased. Sure, its advertisements toward apps is obvious, but why would one immediately assume this wont work within Swann's own eco-system via DVR?Lesson learned. Next time, more research, more reviews before purchasing. We will be returning these Swann Wireless IP, app only Cameras, and we will be buying Wireless IP Cameras that allow US the ability to determine how they are viewed. Certainly do not want to be strapped to an app when I can see live 24/7 right here on our tv.

New app is not good!
We bought this system about 6 to 7 months ago. At first the app that went along with it was great we could go back and see when there was motion detected and watch a short video. They have since updated the app and it is not nearly as good. In fact I probably would not have purchased this product with the app that is now with it. It only works on live video and two of our cameras won’t even link anymore and we purchased the hardwired thinking it would be much more efficient in getting videos. We used to be able to go back and watch a video that was saved when motion was detected but now the playback does not work. The quality of the camera is good when it does take motion videos however the app just doesn’t work well with it making it all together not a good purchase.

Doesnt consistently record motion or notify you when motion is detected.
What a horrible waste of money. Too many issues to list them all so ill touch on a few. The app itself is horribly written, to view live you have to push "continue watching" every couple of minutes or it shuts off, theres no way to delete multiple recordings, and recordings are not all located in the same place! The cameras only record half of the time, theres no way to fine tune the recording area, recording sensitivity can be adjusted up and down but thats it, thats all the adjustments you can do. Updates are useless and always cause headaches, swann customer service might help reset your password but will not fix any technical issues like notifications not working. Security cameras need to record motion and notify you when motion is detected, so these cameras dont qualify because they dont do either consistently. Zero stars for inconsistency.

Would be nice for this product of ("SWANN'S SECURITY CAMERA'S") on this one Especially ❗❗❗❗👎😡
When trying to pair them and keep them online... Theses ("Swann Security Cameras")... Is just really touching go so❗❗❗👎😡 It's not the greatest, the hardware and the software could be much better design for theses cameras❗❗❗👎😡 With a $50 more Investment, in the product by Swann the company... I would pay $50 to $100 more for better quality hardware in the cameras, as far as pairing and signal antenna quality ranges gose❗❗❗ Remaintanning staying online and not falling off and easier pairing the cameras up❗❗❗❗❗❗👎😡 Pairing up and better signal strength, would be nice for this product of ("SWANN'S SECURITY CAMERA'S") on this one Especially ❗❗❗❗👎😡

Useless
I use the cameras to view the outside of my house and back yard and they do a good job at recording motion. My only problem was that the cameras had to be wired to the router. They didn't work wirelessly even though it was a much shorter distance than the sixty feet...As an update, when I thought that the cameras couldn't get worse, Swann updated the app and I cannot save any video clips. These cameras are useless!!! Another update... Swann updated the app again and now I cannot view video clips at all. I'm throwing the cameras in the garbage!!!

These Cameras are obsolete and no longer supported by the Swann Security App
Do not buy this version of the Swann wifi camera. I began installing these cameras and tried to connect them to the Swann Security app. I tried connecting several ways and kept getting an error message. I called Swann Technical services (help desk). They stepped me through the trouble shooting process and finally determined that these cameras are older versions that are no longer supported by the current Swann Security App. I have other Swann wifi cameras that work great! I just can't recommend this particular model.

Swann, please fix your app!!!!
The cameras need an app to work, and the app has a lot of issues. For me, the biggest one is that it can take so long to load. It is very scary to be home alone at night, have your camera triggered, then have to wait 20+ minutes to see if it was an intruder or your neighbor's cat. The app severely hinders the functionality of this product. If the app worked my review would improve dramatically. Check out "Safe by Swann" in the app store and believe the reviews.

No Customer Service
The first outdoor camera paired but the second won’t pair. The program says I’ve chosen ‘home’ but I still get notifications. I’ve attempted to contact customer service twice and they haven’t gotten back to me. I would not buy this produce again.

Good cameras, poor app, expensive subscription
I sent these back some weeks ago, ordering Netatmo Presence in preference, and can't remember too many details. The cameras produced excellent images and did a great job of avoiding triggering by insects but had no microphones. They're reasonably priced too, although aren't the most up-to-date of designs and use external antennae. I had no trouble connecting them to my wi-fi. Email support was commendably responsive too, if not always answering the question.I'd have kept the cameras, but for the 'Safe by Swann' app, In fact, every Swann app I've tried has been disappointing. In particular, clip length is fixed at 30 seconds and there seems no way of recording contiguous clips. I see someone coming down the drive but then the recording stops! At least it does pre-record. There's no way of viewing clips on Windows, unless I missed something, although it's probably possible to download them - can't remember. There's local recording to an in-camera SD card and you get two days' free cloud storage. Beyond that, the cloud subscription is the highest I came across, at £8/month for 10 days' storage and £20/month for 30 days! Per camera!!There's no perfect CCTV camera out there, or not for me, that I could find. Ring and Nest give you no choice but to pay for a subscription. Arlo is good but expensive. Logitech Circle 2 has a 180-degree angle of view, which may suit some applications, but I found I had to zoom in so much to see faces and number plates that were unrecognisable. The Netatmo Presence is a big, ugly brute, to my eyes, expensive too, and installation is ludicrously badly thought-out, but image quality is very good and the app is great at distinguishing between animals, cars and people, letting you customise actions for each (and ignoring insects); it has an SD card, can forward to Dropbox or FTP (e.g. a NAS drive), and has Google Home, Apple Homekit and IFTTT support (but NOT Amazon Echo); I even get alerts with thumbnail images on my Apple Watch.Between camera design and poor apps, I really do feel Swann have lost their way and need to drag themselves into 2019.

Works as it should, with Alexa support too
I like these. I've bought 3 so far and they cover the exterior of my house. Love the fact that it doesn't require a costly membership or even a sdcard to record video. Everything is just on the app as and when you need it.Sure, the 30 second or so clips aren't ideal, but it always records when it's supposed to and if the 'activity' is longer than 30 seconds, it starts a new recording.Never had an issue with the app either. Worked every time I've tried it, and had them a month or so now.Alexa integration is good and I can view any of my cameras via my Fire TV stick. There is a 3 or so second delay, but not a massive deal. All in all, I'm pleased. For: reliable, no subscription fees, solid Alexa integration, no SDcard required, reasonably priced.Against: 30 second clips are not ideal, slight delay viewing on app or through Amazon device.

The App DOES NOT Work
These cameras depend on the 'Safe by Swann' app to work as they do not require a DVR or NVR, however the company that created that app have gone bust and the app was withdrawn on 31st August 2020.Swann say, on their website, that these cameras should work with the Swann Security app, but having spent most of today trying to make that happen, I can tell you that it does not work, the app does not recognise these cameras and will not pair with them. The cameras create their own wi fi hotspot to connect to your wi fi, and I have tried connecting my phone to that hotspot, as directed by the app, but even then the cameras are not recognised even though the camera indicator shows that it is in pairing mode.I cannot therefore comment on the quality of this product as I obviously havent been able to witness its abilities.Pondering wether to return these items or hope that Swann will come up with a solution. not very optimistic.

they do not work
After spending many hours trying to get them to connect to my network, which already has a Swann Outdoor Camera with Spotlight on it, have given up trying to connect them. Seach for app in the instruction booklet and you can download it but it immediately tells you to upgrade to their Swann Security one. When you download that one and search for the manual, the manuel is for the old app. Search the boards and there is not one single response from Swann to any of the questions. These are definately going to be returned.

Worked well before the app change. Now useless bricks.
Bought four of these and was so pleased with them I bought and fitted more for my parents. They are now utterly useless with the migration to the forced app.I'd give the physical camera (before) 5/5The old app 3/5The new app/camera combo 0/5
