What is the company's recommended distance of burial for this speaker?

I'm not sure, I have mine screwed into a boat dock that floats in the side of the river. It's very loud, it makes the neighbors all mad. I would recommend it

Can you wire 2 of these together in parallel?

Sure. These are 8 ohm subs. If you wire 2 in parallel (assuming you are not feeding any pass through speakers with them) you can wire 2 in parallel and assuming your amplifier can handle a 4 Ohm load.
