My long blonde hair has always been so dry it looks and feels like straw. I always had split ends, and when I pulled my hair back I looked like Medusa: tons of frizzy, sticky-uppy bits around my forehead. I was convinced I had thyroid problems and would never have normal, pretty hair. Other shampoos and conditioners would work for a couple of weeks, then it was back to frizz and crunch.In December 09 I went to a salon and got a haircut, and they used the Alterna. I was totally unconvinced it would work for me, but figured I'd splurge. The small Shampoo/Conditioner gift set was on sale for the holidays. I wasn't excited about the scent, but I decided to try it.Fast forward to July, 2010. My hair is so soft and smooth and silky, I can't keep my hands out of it. I love to wear it down, because it actually shines in the light. I have very few split ends, and a ton of volume. It has not built up on my hair or weighed it down, though I do sometimes switch from the Seasilk shampoo to Alterna clarifying shampoo (found in a discount store for 5 clams! Score!) just to say I do. And get this: I still have half a bottle of shampoo (it was the 8.5 oz bottle, not the large 33.5) and I still have a week's worth of conditioner left! Almost 8 months to an 8 oz bottle is AMAZING! I definitely never got that mileage out of grocery store products. My hair is not as long as it used to be, but it's still past my shoulders, and it takes so little of this product to clean and condition, I'm convinced it actually saves me money.The final straw is, I live and work on the Atlantic Ocean, and am constantly in saltwater. Between the salt, the sun, and the mineral-y, harsh tap water here, I cannot believe that I am able to have hair this healthy.Edit: I wrote this review July, 2010. Today is May 24, 2012, and I'm ready to order another bottle of this stuff. My hairdresser (I finally got a regular stylist, like a grown-up) remarks that while my hair is unkempt, it's healthy. Sadly, I find I can't afford it anymore. The price has DOUBLED! GAHHHHH!!

This conditioner is fabulous! I have long blond hair which is pretty delicate and subject to breakage. I apply this in the shower after shampooing and then put my hair up into a twist and clip it while I continue my shower. This gives it time to work its magic. 5-10 minutes later while rinsing it out the difference is noticeable. My hair is silky and easy to comb/brush. Even after blowing dry it is shiney and smooth. Amazon has the best price I can find, though still expensive. It doesn't take much product to do the job so this large size has so far lasted me several months.

The ingredients and formula shown in images and in details is NOT what you’re getting. On amazon in ingredients shows caviar oil as a top ingredient on actual product its one of the last. Extremely misleading. Shame on you Alterna

Makes my hair soft and shiny without being greasy. I've used it for many years and will continue to use it.

I love the smell, but disappointed the pump doesn't work making it inconvenient to get the conditioner out.

I had never heard of this shampoo until my stylist started using it, on my hair. Then when she switched to a cheaper shampoo I noticed my hair did not feel as soft. My hair actually felt hard. Then I asked her what had she been using and she told me it was expensive. I will not use anything else on my hair. It really works for me. My hair have never felt this soft and it has so much life. I use the conditioner as well. Amazon has the best prices for this shampoo. It can be over prices at other places.

Caviar's product line is the best I have used in my 50 - some years of dealing with naturally curly, tangle-prone hair. This conditioner with sea silk is such a great find I had to purchase it in the large container (for best buy and simply the knowledge I would not run out for a good while). I have medium length hair which is fine and curly. For years I have tried conditioners which attempt to de-frizz, de-tangle, and maintain the moisture in my hair. However, none feels as good and does the job as well as Caviar's. The product leaves my hair without any heavy build-up, completely tangle-free, and easy to style. Since I discovered it about two years ago, I hate to use any other conditioner-! The shampoo and conditioner in combo has left me without any damage, "split-ends", or dry-looking hair. I also color my hair with a delicate all herb blend coloring. The Caviar products are gentle enough to work well even with coloring. I can't rate this product higher than five stars, but if I could, I'd give it a few extra....that's how great of a find it is.
