It does not include filter media (sand). Depending on your brand of pool, you may need additional fittings. **Q: Can i use the 2800 gph model on a 12'x30 intex prism pool? it was the only size i could find for regular price and not double what it usually costs.** A: Did you look at the guidelines to see how many gallons this model will clean verses the amount of gallons in your pool. If the chart says it will clean your pool I go up to the next size. I find this cleans good but start up is the problem once clean at start up the filter is great **Q: Does this pump/filter come with a place to put chlorine tablets? More specifically the 3in tablets?** A: I would say no, this pump has a filter basket but it’s mainly used to prevent particles getting into the pump “basically a can can”. A MUST FOR WELL WATER *by on Reviewed in the United States July 10, 2026* Best purchase for the summer pool. I live on a well.. cartridge filters DO NOT WORK for well water. They fill almost immediately with the iron and metal and minerals. The pool stayed brown.As soon as I introduced this sand filter, after 24 hrs of metal sequestrant, my pool went from brown to CLEAR. I never seen anything so magical. It has kept my pool clean and clear ever since. The only things that was a bummer is a peice was cracked, and a peice was missing. There was no valve for the water to stop going in when you need to provide maintenance to the pump, it doesnt come with 2 tubes for if you dont have intex brand and have 2 hoses for water to feed the pump.
