Essential Cuisine Chicken Stock Mix 800 g

Been using essential’s range for a few years. Not cheap but for so many dishes a good stock is pretty much essential. I don’t have the time to make my own so this is great. I hate oversalted base and this is seasoned sensibly so that if using a strong mix it doesn’t overwhelm. Gluten free as well, which is always a bonus. I do find it cakes quite quickly so i decant smaller amounts and keep the big tub well sealed. Top quality product.

I'd initially bought an 80g pot of this stock from Lakeland, at a comparatively much higher price, but when they could no longer supply it, searched for it here on Amazon and was *very* glad to find such a good value size.This is the best stock I've found since the disappearance of the M&S stock paste jars which I used and loved for years. The flavour is excellent, the powder format makes it really easy to use, whether you're adding it to a dish or making up stock from scratch, and you can get exactly the concentration you want by varying the amount you add. I'm quite picky when it comes to stock, finding the liquid ones insipid and inadequate, and stock cubes over-seasoned and difficult to regulate, but Essential Cuisine have got this one just right. It's also great value, coming in at half the price per kilo of the much smaller tub I bought from Lakeland. This is now my go-to stock, and although I've only tried the chicken one so far, I look forward to trying out several more from the extensive Essential Cuisine range.As an afterthought, the firmly-sealed tub comes with an inner plastic bag which contains the stock, and is easily sealed with a klippit, so that it stays fresh, but if my experience is anything to go by, storing it won't be a problem as you'll be using it very frequently ;-)

This stock mix makes absolutely delicious soup and gravy.

Let's be honest, most of us don't have the time or inclination to make their own chicken stock. This product comes a close second. It's not choc full of additives and taste quite authentic.I use it regularly for making soups thus making a saving on shop bought -a tip here just sautee leeks as your soup base , add in anything you like , say butternut squash and add your reconstituted stock , season - job done!

Total fan of this stock mix, full of flavour and as it's powdered it's easy to use in small batches if needed.

Makes ace stock and also so easy to add to any soup, sauce or casserole needing more flavour. Nearest to stock made from carcasses and chicken wings that ive ever come across.

This stock is out of this world ! The flavour is amazing. Used in a sauce I usually make and it’s depth of flavour is beyond anything I’ve ever used. Also used to coat chicken kebabs and my ordinary chicken tasted extraordinary! Looking forward to trying it in other dishes. Highly recommend.
