Tiny and lightweight, this waterproof permanent lighter is an inexpensive, nifty gadget. Just add several drops of ordinary lighter fluid, let the wick get wet, gently strike the side of the case with the tip of the wick and get a good steady flame! Lasts a long time with just a bit of lighter fluid.

I thought I'd order a few extras for people I thought might enjoy them, so I ordered 4
Alright, so I bought this basically for the novelty that it is. Yeahoshopping shipped it very fast, standard shipping ordered on a Friday and I received it on a Monday. I thought I'd order a few extras for people I thought might enjoy them, so I ordered 4. Just to let everyone know, when you purchase 1, you get a set of two lol. So I ordered 4 and received 8. The match itself seems to be built well enough, it is plastic encased in steel but unless you're deliberately trying to break it I think you'd be fine in most situations. It is indeed a novelty, expect that and you'll have no disappointments. It's like taking a great tool that has been in existence for many years and downgrading it and figuring out a way to sell it. "You like lighters? Me neither, give me a stick with cotton soaked in lighter fluid. I hope you love the smell of lighter fluid because with this nifty little gadget you'll have it on your fingers with every strike of the match guaranteed!"I'm convinced this was someone's research for an advertising course they were taking on how to sell people an old product, or re-invent one. It worked lol, and the match does work. It's just nothing more than a novelty. A lighter will start a fire much easier and your hands won't smell like butane afterward

great lighter, poor company ethics
Most of these comments are the result of ignorance and user error. Can you overfill, yes.will it spill if you tip it over, lol duh, of course. Will wick eventually burn away? Yes but it lasts much longer IF you do not let it burn longer than 10 seconds, or the time it takes to light something. As far as breakage, I cannot give an explanation, but in today's world things are not always well built.I love my lighter, and have handed it over to many folks who for whatever reason had difficulty lighting it.I highly recommend getting this product except for the fact that I have a recurring charge coming out of my bank account every month from Clickbank that handles Survival Life's subscriptions. I never agreed, to my knowledge, to Any subscription to anything that would cost me money every month. I am pretty savvy, and always on the lookout for scams. I greatly dislike companies that try to swindle people. If you are providing a legitimate, wanted service, people will gladly pay you. Do not like companies that conduct business in this manner

Bought this little guy May 19th 2017 from Tier 1 Tactical. This thing is pretty neat. I didn't get a two-pack like other folks did. Mine came individually. No worries though. Filled them with lighter fluid and capped them back off. Just to test things out I have had one that's so full it overflowed when I put the "match" back into it in my pocket all night (work 3rd shift) and no leaking. No irritation on my skin. Nothing. I've tried it out several times to show people and it lights first strike every time. As for a long term test, we shall see.

Looked Interesting
Saw this pop up in an ad and it actually looked pretty interesting. For the price I figured I'd give it a shot.I wrote a review but then changed it. I would note that at the time of this review, they had a Buy One, Get One Free deal with these. The first one I pulled out of the package wouldn't light for me so I left a 2-Star review since they didn't mention you need to supply fluid and the description reads like it is included. However, the second one I pulled out worked just fine. So I'll bump this back up to 4-Star. Worth the few bucks in shipping.

Good Concept...
Flint and steel aspect? works great. Fuel? works great. 15,000 lights? not so much. After playing with if a few times (Like the pyromaniac Eagle Scout that I am) the "cloth" time material that is in the tip of the match was all used up. The flint and steel rod still work great, and there is still fuel in the reservoir. Now i have to put cloth on the tip myself for it to hold a light. Irritating, but not the end of the world. Still a good piece for any emergency kit!

Possible burn hazzard
Excellent support from the seller, the only reason I gave a second star. Was surprised to receive two and both worked. The fire starter is very compact and light, easy to carry. My concern is if you don't pay close attention and tilt the device lighter fluid will come out. In my case it spilled on my left thumb and next thing I know is "flame on". Fortunately I was able to drop the lighter and smoother the fire on my hand before damage occurred. There should be a cap to plug the fill hole when the striker is removed. They should at least include some basic instructions including a warning about the above. To the sellers credit they offered and gave a full refund tho that wasn't what I wanted. If you get one please be aware of this possible dangerous event.

Easy to over fill
Hard to fill. Easy to over fill. Once "match" is saturated with lighter fluid it's very hard to get a spark-5 or 6 six strikes minimum. Also, don't let it burn for more than a few seconds or you'll burn away the wick. After trial and error and a pair of pliers and a toothpick, since there or no instructions, I figured out how to pull more out.other than that it is just as advertised

It is sort of like the original permanent match of 40 years ago
It is sort of like the original permanent match of 40 years ago, and nicely finished, but lacks the kind of flint used in the originals. These all were given as gifts. I have had complaints from the recipients that they are hard to light. Otherwise, finish is great and they still are nice to have on a key ring when fire is needed.
