Made in China. The stuff inside is glass beads and cotton and it is heavy enough. Very delicate workmanship.

In the picture it shows this is 4" thick but the description says 3". Which is it?

Not sure where you see 4"....it's 3 inches, but plenty wide for standard door.

Would this work for a sliding door area, back area? When the door is closed, the back area has a breeze. Need new door.haha!

It is heavy, but you can easily pick it up. Instead of heavy, I think I would say it is solid. Not a flimsy little thing. I actually use them under my furniture to keep the dog's ball from rolling under. I don't see why they wouldn't work on windows, provided you have a sill that is at least a couple of inches wide.
