What Pet Hair?
I am in love with my new vacuum! I had been using hand me downs for my whole adult life and decided to do some research to find one for pet hair. I have two cats, one of which is a medium hair breed, and working from home made me very aware of how disgusting my carpets get. I've got some sensory issues and executive dysfunction that makes cleaning beyond a chore and needed to get something that worked well, worked quickly, could get in tight spaces, and pick up pet hair. This vacuum hit all those check marks easily! After three months of owning it, I've actually been able to vacuum my whole apartment more times than I used to in a year. It's not overly loud, it's light and easy to maneuver, and it really picks up hair insanely well even when I used it that first time (and the cat hair had been ground into the carpets for 6-12 months). I works decently on hard wood/laminate as well, I've found it does have trouble picking up things as small as cat litter that's been tracked about but it's so lightweight and easy to use that I don't mind making a few passes in the same area to pick it all up. You do need to empty it pretty frequently due to the small size, and my biggest complaint with the vacuum is that I have to unplug it to disconnect the top and bring the whole thing to empty in the trash. It's a bit frustrating to not be able and just pop out the container to empty, but the rest of the benefits FAR outweigh this one issue. I appreciate all the various attachments that come with it, although mine did not have a wall hook for storage like I thought it would. My brother in law is interested in the car detailing kit that came with it to take care of his Subaru BRZ, and my sister was able to spend 6 hours at my apartment without her cat allergies kicking in thanks to how well it worked. She even asked for a demonstration before leaving! My new vacuum has become nearly a running joke as my family finds ways to insist I bring it places. "It your father's birthday, don't you want to do something nice for him?" For reference, my mom and dad have 3 cats including a long hair breed. I have told them to buy their own!

Replaced a big, heavy vac for lots of tile floors.
So far so good. I don't have much to add that hasn't already been covered. This is the first and only product I've ever actually ordered because I sat through a late night infomercial (or three) for said product. It just seemed like it would really be exactly what we needed in our new home. Our house is almost entirely bare travertine tile. So our big, heavy traditional canister vacuum designed for carpet and pet hair just isn't appropriate here. Unboxing was fine. I was up and running to show it off to my mom-in-law in no time. I got it hung on the wall in our utility room with no problems, though I wish they did include more hooks, or maybe even an organized attachments caddy to hang so I don't just throw everything in the included bag. Good cord management would be a nice add as well. In the trial runs, it handled the tile perfectly. My bare feet picked up no dust or grit after a pass with the Rocket. It also did a fine job on a new cotton & jute rug, pulling up all the loose fibers and such before they could spread all over the house. Suction is good. Maneuverability is good, if not a little loose. The plastics don't feel altogether durable, but I do expect it will last a while. It's a vacuum after all; it doesn't exactly get abused. I like that it is lightweight and maneuverable; that it has a nice, long cord; that it hangs out of the way on the wall; that it handles bare floors better and easier than sweeping & swiffering; and that it's easy to empty and clean. I wish it stood upright on its own; that the bare floor attachment had a cord hook like the carpet head does; and...well I guess that's about it. I got the one with the little car kit and such since it was the cheapest on sale. But I don't know when I'll actually use that. Pretty nice little set of tools if you ever so want to get into the cracks & crevices, I suppose.

Great vacuum? Yes. Replaces your upright? No.
Original Review (UPDATE AT BOTTOM): I bought this hoping to replace my current Dyson DC33 vacuum with a vacuum that's more portable and convenient. I have multiple dogs in my house that shed hair like crazy and I vacuum very frequently to keep everything clean. The box advertises that it cleans better than an upright Dyson but after thoroughly testing it out on the different flooring and different rooms in my house, unfortunately I feel it didn't work well enough to replace my Dyson. Don't get me wrong, the Shark Rocket did outperform the Dyson by a long shot on different flooring and I am keeping it because of that. The following are the tests I performed (note I went two weeks without vacuuming prior to this test and I cleaned both vacuums out between tests): After unboxing it, I tried vacuuming one of my carpeted hallways. I have regular short carpeting and I noticed that the shark kept pulling away from me the whole time and kept skipping across the surface. I could tell the vacuum is too light to get a good deep clean. I tried holding it at an angle and putting a bit of pressure down on it and that seemed to help a lot, it was just awkward and uncomfortable to hold and maneuver like this. The shark picked up a lot of hair and dust and I had a full canister at the end. I then used my Dyson over the same carpet I just cleaned with the shark and noticed the difference. The Dyson filled up almost a quarter of its full size canister with hair and dust that the Shark missed. Next I moved one of our rooms that has hard wood flooring. I ran the shark with its included hard wood floor tool and was amazed by how well it cleaned the floors. The white micro fiber cloth was dirty afterwards and the floor felt much cleaner than it did with my Dyson. I also was impressed with how easy it was to use to clean under the bed and desk in that room. After using the Shark I went over the floors like I normally do with the Dyson and the Dyson picked up nothing. To make sure that I wasn't being bias I cleaned out the two vacuums, went to the other room I have with hard wood and tried using the Dyson first. I then went over the floors with the Shark and again it out performed the Dyson. The Microfiber pad that the Shark has cleans the hardwood floors significantly better than the Dyson could and the Shark gets under beds and desks much better than my Dyson. Next I tried using the shark in one of my bathrooms with bathroom tile. I had the same outcome as I did with the hardwood floors. I started with the Shark, and then went over the floors with the Dyson. The Shark's canister was about halfway full and the Dyson picked up nothing. I cleaned them out and moved to my other bathroom with tile in it and tried using the Dyson first. The Dyson picked up quite a bit but again the Shark outperformed the Dyson. Finally I have a large area rug in my living room and I used the Dyson first on one half and then went over it with that same half with the Shark. The Dyson got most of the hair and dust out of it but I noticed that the Shark picked up about a quarter of its small canister that the Dyson missed. I believe it's from the edges of the rug, the Dyson's suction always pulls up the edges of the rug and is too difficult to vacuum close to the edges. The shark on it's lower setting cleaned the outer edges of the rug without having this problem. Next I cleaned out both vacuums and used the Shark first on the other half of the area rug. It performed very well and filled its little canister up with hair pretty quick. I went over that half with the Dyson and it did pick up a little bit (barely noticeable amount) that the Shark missed but in my opinion, the hassle of the Dyson pulling up the edges of the rug isn't worth it, the Shark was much easier to use and cleaned the rug very well. Overall the Shark Rocket outperforms my Dyson DC33 upright on hardwood, tile, and area rugs but the Shark just doesn't work well enough on carpet to completely replace my upright. I'm impressed enough with the performance of the Shark that I am keeping it to use on all my flooring except for carpet. The only other thing I noticed is that my hand and arm did get tired from holding up the Shark the whole time cleaning and the Shark won't stand upright on its own, you either have to hold it the whole time, or lay it on the floor between cleanings. If you are looking for a good and convenient vacuum for hardwood, tile, or area rugs, I would highly recommend this vacuum. If you are looking for a vacuum to replace an old upright and plan to use it on carpeting, buy another upright, not this. This a great vacuum to use to clean quick messes on carpeting but I don't feel it cleans carpet well enough to fully replace an upright. UPDATE: I've had the vacuum for a few weeks now and after frequently using it, I still feel the same as my initial review above, this is a great vacuum but I don't feel it's good enough to fully replace an upright with. Yesterday I decided to try using the vacuum to clean out the inside of my car and I was impressed with how well the micro cleaning kit (included in HV302)cleaned all of the usually hard places to clean. I used the micro cleaning kit to vacuum out the vents, cup holders, dash board, and other places in the car that are too difficult to get with a rag and it worked great. I also used the regular accessories to vacuum my cloth seats which worked very well and they are noticeably more clean. I started using the vacuum on the floors of my car but I quickly changed my mind after it sucked up a few small pebbles which immediately started bashing around the inside of the canister which I feel would have caused damage to the vacuum if I kept going. As far as this vacuum as a car cleaner, I would suggest using a shop vac on the floors of the car (if you have a gravel driveway like me) and then using this vacuum to clean your seats, vents, and other hard to clean places. If you plan on using this vacuum to clean your car, I would HIGHLY recommend getting the micro cleaning kit, it made cleaning my car that much easier.

Shocked!!!
For decades I have had a wall vacuum unit and I thought it was just okay. Recently the brush head broke and I came onto Amazon to price a replacement. Over a hundred dollars just for the brush head unit! Since I was never in love with the system I started pricing Dysons...all but the cheapest unit was out of my price range and I wasn't overly impressed with the reviews. So I headed over to the Shark reviews, looked at the various units and found I could get a nice unit for about $50 more than the replacement part for my wall system. Easy to assemble in a minute or so, easy to understand how to use...nice accessories. Since I was in the kitchen when I was putting it together, I decided to try it out first on an area rug my dog lays on (he's a short haired breed). The rug was about 2x4 no big area here...to say I was impressed was an understatement...I was shocked at the amount of dust and hair the unit picked up effortlessly...actually it was kinda creepy to know all that dirt was in that little rug, it filled the cup about halfway! I put on the floor dusting attachment and finished the kitchen, the cup is now full. Easy enough to empty the cup, I didn't understand all the whining about this feature in the reviews. Moved onto the dining room, nearly filled the cup again in just that room and it had been recently vacuumed. Moved onto the living room and got about 75% of it done before I had to find a new outlet, I was plugged into the kitchen and I have a big house over 2000 square feet! Filled the cup again and...maybe it was my imagination but my bare feet on the carpet felt cleaner. Easy to maneuver, you don't have to push it, it self propels forward saving a lot of backache. The other attachments were pretty much what you get with all other units with the exception of the mini ones that can clean you keyboard...I think it might suck up my laptop it's so powerful, I haven't used it yet so I can't comment. Used it some more the next day on more floors and bedroom carpets and was shocked at the amount of dust and hair in the cup. Now I will qualify my statements by saying I have never owned a Dyson, I've never even used one so I can't compare the two. For the difference in price, there is nothing that the Dyson could offer me that I would want or need that the Shark doesn't already give me. I will also add that I was shocked how light the unit was, with all the "bones" up high by your handle, I thought reaching high with the attachments to get cobwebs off the ceiling would strain my wrist...nope, it was effortless. My ceilings are really high, 20 feet in some areas and I was able to get to all but the highest points and those areas I could get with a small step stool. As far as how long the unit will last...for the price if it only lasts until the 5 year warranty runs out I will be happy, I've spent a whole lot more on units that only had a fraction of the cleaning power that this baby holds. I feel I got a really great value for the price. That you can't stand it up on it's own is a minor hassle I can deal with. I recommend this unit highly!

I am SO IMPRESSED with this vacuum!
Day one, I am in love with this Shark Rocket vacuum. My expectations were pretty low after reading some of the reviews, plus I’m a vacuum snob, but I bought this mainly in hopes that I could finally get my carpeted stairs clean. I actually still haven’t tried to clean the stairs properly yet, but I was totally surprised by how well it works on carpet and tile. The image shows how it picks up lots of super fine dust that my stand-up Hoover missed. It picked all of that up in just a small area of “clean” carpet. That Hoover is already out in the garage, waiting to be dumped or sold! After vacuuming several rooms with this Shark Rocket, the white filter was almost completely grey with fine dust already. I definitely don’t mind replacing filters often if it’s keeping that out of my house and sinuses! By the way... my carpets haven’t been this fluffy in years! I couldn’t be happier. The suction is very strong (YAY!!) so I would be careful with area rugs and delicate surfaces. It out-performs every other vacuum I’ve ever used (including Dyson, Hoover, Bissell, and more, including two brands of robot vacuums) when it comes to tile floors. Every other vacuum would shoot/spray out debris back towards my feet as I was vacuuming. So frustrating. This Shark Rocket doesn’t do that! It picks up everything without spraying junk all over the place. The only things it couldn’t pick up were larger feathers dropped by our medium-sized parrot. Of course it is quite top heavy... and my arms got a good work out while using it since you basically have to carry the weight of it the entire time you’re using it. You do need a bit of hand strength since the heavy part you’re holding on to is also vibrating a bit. It is easy to detach the heavy motor/canister when you need to take a break or set it down without it falling over. Setting up the vacuum was as easy as clicking the motor to the pole and the pole to the vacuum head. It was ready to use in seconds after unboxing it. One thing I wish they would’ve done is make the power cord detachable. The cord is pretty heavy, and it isn’t convenient having to carry it around and hold it out of the way when you need to empty the canister. Also, the swiveling vacuum head kinda has a mind of its own, and always seems to swivel directly into furniture, walls and corners that I’m trying to vacuum around. 🤷🏻♀️ It does shoot hot air straight back towards you as you’re using it... it would have been a plus if they could’ve made it shoot the air out to the side instead. I had to untangle a few hairs and fabric threads from the rolling brush, but it wasn’t an issue. Keeping up with that regularly so it doesn’t get unmanageable would be a good idea. Due to the weight of it that you have to support, I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with strength or mobility issues. For me, it is one of the best purchases I’ve made in years, and I actually look forward to cleaning my floors again. I will update this once I start using the attachments/if my opinion changes.

Absolutely perfect condition for “used” price.
Very pleased! More powerful than I thought it would be. I thought my carpet was clean but I gave it a go and lots of other stuff came up. Goes right under bed, chairs, etc. which I love. A bit top heavy in your hand (I have a bad thumb) because of the motor but I’ll let that slide because it works so well and I only need it for short runs in my apartment. It can’t stand up on its own but it has a little bit of rubber to protect your wall which I wish covered the edges of the flat space in case it goes a little bit sideways when you lean it on the wall to put away. Has a cord but I feel I’ll get full power for longer life over time. No disappointment because I got a “second hand” one for less. (Boxing and other wrapping was like new.) $SAVED A LOT$ It won’t pull MY long hair out of my sisal carpet (I don’t expect it to) but coupled with a rug rake, everything is SO clean!

Unstoppable Machine, Vacuum Cured My Depression
You're reading reviews for this vacuum because you have two concerns: hair and weight. Consider your problems solved. First, hair. As you can see from the attached image, I have the kind of long, extremely thick hair that strangles vacuum rollers dead in nanoseconds. This vacuum's roller has a groove carved into the plastic so you can quickly and easily slide a knife or scissor blade in, severing every hair with no hassle. Instant cleanup, no destroyed roller. The suction is no joke. There are two settings: one that is as powerful as my old vacuum on max power, and one that is TURBO CHARGED. This will demolish ground-in dirt and hair even from high-pile carpet or rugs. The suction is so powerful, even carpeting and rugs that have been pounded completely flat have the fibers physically pulled upwards, so even if your hairy little monster of a pet likes to destroy carpet or rug fibers, after vacuuming they feel plush and wonderful. Con: on Turbo mode, you will smell burning hair. The motor really is not kidding around and will set itself on fire before it allows the tiniest speck of dirt to remain on your floor. Second: weight. It's remarkably lightweight and very easy to heft around even with tiny elf arms. The maneuverability of the vacuum head is excellent and can work around such tight unwieldy places as between chair legs. All the pieces pop apart and reassemble with no trouble, so storage and transportation will never be an issue. Con: almost all of the weight is in the top handle, where the motor is. This can make it a tiny bit difficult to get the vacuum head to stay on the ground properly, and makes it nigh impossible for you just to stand the vacuum up anywhere and leave it there. Being top-heavy does it no favors. General design con: the canister is somewhat small and connected directly to the motor so you can't just pop it out, empty it into a bin, and pop it back into the vacuum. It's very easy to empty, but you are still going to have to heft the motor around with it, and the motor is obviously still going to be plugged into the wall. Good news is that the motor/handle/canister all pops free of the other bits with a simple lever press, so it's not like you need to carry the entire vacuum with you when you head to the bin. Bonus pro: there are a huge number of attachments, heads, and specialty bits and bobs in with the vacuum. I don't know what half of them are used for. Some are obviously for cleaning off stairs, or ceiling fans, or getting into crevasses, but some of them, who even knows. Literally whatever kind of application you'd like this vacuum for, there's probably a specialized nozzle for it. This is the cleanest my stairs have been in four years. Final pitch: look, I get it. I have a A Thing about money where no matter how worthy a purchase it is, a triple digit price tag makes me flinch. I put off getting a new vacuum for months and watched my own mental health spiral, knowing a contributing factor was that I was living in rising masses of dirt and grime. Danger had its element, too; a pie plate exploded (don't ask) and glass shards found themselves all over my kitchen floor, and some ended up in my feet. No vacuum to clean up the shards I couldn't see and couldn't get up with a broom and dustpan. I know being surrounded by painful messes we're powerless to fix is a 2020 mood and all, but this metaphor is a little too on the nose. I caved and bought the vacuum. I cranked her up this morning. This is the best I've felt in months. I know the price tag is a little steep compared to other lightweight vacs, but it's powerful and versatile enough that it's absolutely worth the expenditure. If you're looking for a worthwhile vacuum that will demolish human hair, pet hair, ground-in dirt, and particulates from any flooring you could possibly have, all while staying under $200, this is it.

Great vacuum
Shark vacuums have always been highly rated by Consumers Reports. I have family and friends who own Shark stick vacuums. Additionally all the positive reviews of this vacuum on Amazon. Over the years we have had numerous vacuums. We have pets and pine trees with pine needles. We own to cordless stick vacuums. They are pretty much worthless handling pet hair. Lack power. Get plugged up. This vacuum works great. Totally pleased with it. Great vacuuming up pet hair. Swivel head navigates well and gets under most furniture. It also easily disconnects to use just the wand to get under dressers and bed. Highly recommend.

Amazing - no regrets
This vacuum is amazing. I mostly use the hardfloor head because that’s what the majority of my house is. I have a cat, a dog and two toddlers - it takes a lot to keep my floor clean (I have to sweep or vacuum at least 3 times a day to keep them even presentable) and this vacuum makes it SO EASY. I got into corners that I’ve NEVER been able to clean, and the suction power sucked things out from under my baseboards (I definitely didn’t know stuff and snuck under there!) It is definitely top heavy(though still very light), and the dirt canister is quite small (though I am able to do all of my hard wood floors without emptying it - in the rooms with rug I can barely do an entire room before it needs to be emptied) I also love how easy it is to maneuver and use on my couches! All in all it’s an amazing product. I read a lot of reviews on this before buying and I don’t regret it at all!

Funcional

Love this vacuum.
I did a lot of research before buying this vacuum and I’m very glad to say it has lived up to expectations. The suction on this is incredible and I find it very easy to use to get dust on baseboards and furniture. I’ve vacuumed so much more since I’ve gotten this. The storage cup is small so you will have to empty it regularly, but I don’t mind as I usually have a trash can near by to do that. I live in a condo so I’m also not covering a lot of space. I will agree with other reviewers and say it is heavy on the wrist, which might be too much for some. I work a physical job though and am a young mom so it only took me a few days to get use to and now I barely notice or care. The biggest selling feature to me is the fact that it stands to store. I didn’t want to have to mount a vacuum on one of my walls and so that more than anything sold me on this model. The second suction level does an incredible job on my rugs and with two cats and two kids that’s a big plus too. For anyone worried about cord length, I can reach my from the front entrance of my condo all the way to the back of the living room (+35ft) with ease from a single plug in the middle. So unless you have a huge house or a closed off layout you should be able to do at least 2-3 rooms. Over all if you’re comfortable handling the weight of it I would 100% recommend this vacuum.
