Excellent
As described, very well packaged , comes with everything needed to install as well as detailed instructions explaining every step. I installed this on my National Match M1A Loaded FDE Precision to carry a Nightforce SHV and I couldn't be more pleased with the results , well built and strong I've over 300 rnds through so far and have had no issues . Groves cut down the center so you can use the iron sights when installed , however you'll have to adjust the elevation. Great product , well worth the price .

Sadlak steel airborn mount fits correctly
This is a quite good scope mount. I bought the steel one, as a few extra ounces of weight don't matter to me. The manufacturer included 2 precision ground pins that you can can use to determine if the groove milled into the side of the receiver is to mil-spec and therefore will provide a stable mounting point. Just follow the directions exactly, and you shouldn't have a problem, unless your receiver is out of spec. You will need to use a butt stock cheek riser in order to use this mount with any scope, as the standard stocks are designed for use with the iron sights. The quality of the mount is excellent.

Don't waste your time with anything else
Don't waste your time with anything else. This is the best of the best mounts for an M1A. Those QD mounts lose zero every time you clean. with this mounting on the rifle itself, it holds zero all the time and is rock solid. One warning - if you run a Sage EBR chassis, you do need to get a modified version where the front three rails are removed. Sadlak can do this for you or you can buy one already modified directly from them. Another option is to get a modified top cover for the EBR. but I chose to keep the chassis intact. The thing that made me write a review was the Sadlak customer service. I've never found better service from any vendor. They were immediately responsive. I didn't realize the Sage EBR problem (my fault) and they made it right for free. Not only is this a perfectly machined mount, but they back it up 100%. They have followed up several times to make sure it installed and worked as expected. you simply cannot go wrong with this product!

It was easy to install
So far this is a very quality design. It was easy to install. Watch the video on Youtube and you don't have to read the instructions. The one draw back is price. Its 100 bucks higher than the competition and I do not see where the money is but in markup. Although this unit is a good design it does not seem to be 100 dollars better.

So much better than the SA 4th gen mount. This will let you see what accuracy you're gun is capable of.
If you have an M1A and you want to mount a scope to it that's reliable and supports the accuracy of the rifle, stop looking. The SA 4th generation mount is mickey mouse compared to this one. Read the instructions a few times before you install this on your rifle. I only skimmed over them (who needs instructions? - this guy) and fumbled the first installation by tightening up the forward screw too much. It's only meant to contact the forward part of the receiver to stabilize the mount. The side bolt and cam-lock washer along with the 3 set screws for dovetail insert in the stripper clip guide are what holds everything in place. The front set screw (the one inside the Picatinny rail on the barrel end of the mount) merely braces the front of the mount like a tripod. Don't crank on that forward set screw, just tighten it 1/4 turn after it makes contact with the receiver. That's it. And this thing works. It comes with a little one-use thing of lock tight to make sure none of the bolts or screws back out. I've put about 100 rounds though my SOCOM 16 with this and nothing has budged. I couldn't be happier now that I've got a full-sized scope on my M1A instead of the iron sights or a scout type scope. Now I have proven I have a sub-1" gun at 100yds., and that's a nice feeling.
