Runs small, swimsuit-like material
I am very glad I ordered up. I have a 36 in tall, 30 lbs, lean but not thin almost 2 year old who started ballet on Saturday. I am glad I read the reviews because the obvious consensus is that this leotard runs small. I ordered the 4-6 rather than the 2T-4T. To compare sizes, I enclosed a picture of a true to size12-18 month wrap tunic (designed to just cover her butt). I can tell this will fit her perfectly for the next year or so.As for the material, it feels very similar to a bathing suit, which is not what I was expecting but I trust that the material used is standard for ballet. I am new to this.I will update this review after it has been washed and worn!

Sizes run small (my daughter typically wears a 8-10 and the 12-14 is snug)
My daughter really does like these. The only reason I am marking them down to 4 stars is the sizing is silly. My daughter is 7 and wears an 8 (even if I occasionally buy her a 10 that drapes fairly big on her). The 12-14 is tight. I mean quite tight, not just snug. For a 12-14 to be tight on her is crazy. She still wears it and just consistently tugs at the bottom end of it (if you know what I mean), but I would highly recommend ordering a size or 2 up from what you think your child should be wearing. To be fair, perhaps my daughter is taller than the average 7 year old and that might be contributing to the problems with sizing.

The Sizing Is Way Off!
Twice now I have ordered the wrong size, because half of the colors are sized as small through large, and the others are given number sizing that doesn’t make sense based off of the size chart. On the size chart it says size 6-8 is a medium, then 10-12 is a large...but then the numbered sizing is 8-10? Ridiculous. So I order the 8-10 for my 7 year old and she can’t even squeeze into it. I think I’m done dealing with these leotards. I will gladly just buy from a company that can size things properly.

NOT the color expected
The leotard I purchased according to the image is NOT the one I received. The color is pretty but waiting to hear back from our dance studio if this color will be allowed or just the color the picture in the listing shows. Here are two different leotards I purchased because the one on bottom (left) said it wouldn’t arrive in time but came quick (it’s a different brand, Mirella). The one I received from THIS listing is the one on right (top). It’s more of a sky blue than the classic light blue that the image in the listing showed (the one on bottom in person looks just like the light blue in this listing). If your studio requires a specific color, beware! We’ve never had issues before purchasing Capezio, usually they’re a high quality dance brand. Unfortunately, the color is not as advertised. The fit was as expected. This is more of a polyester feel which means it won’t fade. I usually prefer this type of material for leotards as opposed to the more cotton feel (mainly because the latter fades like crazy even washed on cold and line dried). I’m guessing I’ll have to return this one though!

Order size up
I found the quality of the leotard material to be great--nice and thick (it was light pink and lined). However, one of the leg holes was definitely smaller than the other, and overall the fit was VERY tight. My daughter is 3 1/4 years old, 40 lbs, 39 inches tall (she's in highest percentile for both), and we bought the one for size 4-6 years (her typical size is 4/5T). I think the next size up would likely be too big, but this one was definitely too small. Sending back because of the leg hole, too.

Good but Runs small
The sizes on Amazon make the size seem a bit off, you should definitely check out the actual Capezio webite to get the sizes & measure your dancer. Capezio leotards run on the smaller size so purchase accordingly. My daughter is 7.5 and wears a small in tops and a 7 in bottoms, she is pretty tall and thin. We purchased a L in this because she outgrew the size under it already.

Fits as advertised
My daughter is 3.5 yrs old. She is 38 inches tall and weighs 29lbs. She wears a 3T in clothes as she is also thin. I purchased the size 6-8 black leotard. The leotard is very loose, and very loose in the shoulders. She will be able to wear this for at least 3 yrs. I should have purchased the 4-6 size. I will keep this as im hoping it will shrink in wash. The quality is excellent. Its a thick, sort of stretchy heavy material (not bathing suit material). I am impressed! Follow the size chart. It is true and correct.

Unraveled almost immediately
Disappointing to get this from Capezio, which is supposed to be a pretty high-end, "known" brand. Neckline didn't survive first wearing without extensive unraveling at the neckline, and that is with absolutely zero tugging or hijinks from daughter wearing it. Just poorly sewn straight out of the gate. Good stretch, good price point compared to the usual overly marked-up ballet retailers. But crappy basic hemming.

It's a beautiful shade of pink
It's a beautiful shade of pink. The material is thick and of great quality. I had hoped it didn't fit as snug as it did just because I wished my girl could wear it longer.
