Kevala Organic Toasted Sesame (Hulled) - 2 lb, Gluten Free Roasted Sesame

The bag looks exactly as pictured, and these roasted seeds taste great. I use a lot of sesame seeds in cooking and salads. So the high price of the little bottles in the spice section of the grocery store is prohibitive. This is a BIG bag of toasted sesame seeds. I keep seeds in the freezer because otherwise the oil in the seeds can become rancid. Kept in the freezer, seeds stay fresh for many months. The kick of flavor these add to a salad isn't to be missed!

I loved the toasting and the flavor, excellent for adding to recipes. It's just like the description.

After first using non-hulled seeds, which I did not want to repeat because they were bitter and the surface very resistant to crushing and to my palate, I bought these, hulled and toasted seeds, to make tahini paste for my 'ful medamas' recipe. They grind easily and very quickly in my Oster blender jar, 1/2 cup at a time. A 1-pound supply would have been a better choice for me, but was not available. They come in a zipper-top package that I store in the refrig, so I'm hoping they will survive with nutrition intact.

They are flavorful. Fresh. Crunchy. Not as toasted as I thought they might be, but would buy again... not for awhile, tho, because it a good size bag!

This product was fresh and toasty. I made sesame Seed Candy and it was delicious

So far, I’ve only used these to make a small batch of sesame sticks. They came out good - they’re kind of addictive - and I loved being able to skip the step of pan-toasting the seeds before proceeding with the recipe. This is a much better value than buying the little spice jar size. Plus, it’s organic!
