Holmes HPF1010A-NM Outdoor Misting Fan

Considering the cost - which is at least half that of most other outdoor fans - this one has been a TANK. I wanted a fan that I could leave outdoors in the heat, wind, rain, and even snow (not one that misted so I can't comment on that feature). This one worked like a jewel to keep me cool on the patio even at the hottest part of the day and keep the mosquitoes away so that I could enjoy a few moments after work outside relaxing. I live in the South so that's a tall order but this fan delivered.The only part that eventually broke after exposure to the elements for several years was the stand. No big deal, I replaced it with a cheap pipe from the home improvements store and it kept on blowing though not able to oscillate.I'm now buying another for my deck and I've looked a long time to find the exact same thing I had. Here it is on amazon.com - I should have looked here first and saved myself the aggravation.

This fan worked great for one day! Easy to put together, pumping out mist at a high volume. I kept it on the porch under cover, turned it on day two....and nothing!Motor would not turn. I checked the outlet, power's on and fan won't work. Now there's nothing to do but box it up for return.

This thing puts out more water than expected, but is excellent for outdoor use. This works great for gatherings outside in the heat. I knocked a star off because the gasket that comes with the hose attachment sucks. Cheaply made. Other than that, about what you would expect for $70 bucks.

I purchased this fan last year and really liked the look, color and operation of the fan. The mister is more of a soaker however I purchased it more to use as just a fan so it didn't bother me. I stored it inside over the winter however the plastic on the front half of the fan has turned a different color(more of an olive green) than the rest of the fan. I am highly disappointed in the quality of the materials. The fan still works fine- it just doesn't look very nice anymore. I would have paid a little more for it if the quality would have been better. Very disappointing.

used it on vacation in Redding Calif. It was o.k. It sprayed more than misted, so it got things wet. Has a good fan! Doesn't work as a misting unit very well with wend blowing.

Though shorter than I thought, this fan is perfect for my patio. I turned the hose down to the lowest setting (just on) and it was perfect mist to cool off us moms hanging around the pool supervising. Unless you are right in front of this I can't see how you would get wet.....we were sitting about 5 feet away and it was enough to take the heat off of us but not distracting in its job. I really like the color too (I got the bronze or brownish one) as it looks elegant vs a plastic looking white or black or even plain silver 'piping' looking one. You'll be surprised that you can get this effect at this price (I thought I'd be paying 150-200). Off season I plan to unhook the hose and just use it as a fan indoors if needed, its that pretty. Had it about 1 month.

I had purchased a Newair misting fan for almost twice the price, which was difficult to assemble(took hours), & quit working after 7 minutes. This Holmes fan was easy to assemble ( litterally 15 minutes, and workes fantastically. the fan speeds are precise, the mist is EASY to control & it runs like a trooper. great misting fan at a great price. I live on the gulf coast, where summers can be brutal & buggy, but this fan keeps me & family cool & bug free!

We use two out on our deck and one as a misting fan. You must take care with the misting plastic hose since they may crack and are not replaceable from Holmes, since they are considered part of the fan? When our house get warmer that the outside air at night, I point two of them to blow inside and the house temperature cools down very fast. Holmes guarantees them 3 years. Problem was that the shut off valve on the Y-Connector for the fan was hard to turn off due to its small size plus the misting fan used a plastic connector for the water supply and leaked.
