so I peeked in and "caught" my superkid doing super moves in front of the mirror chanting
She was awfully quiet in the bathroom while getting ready for school, so I peeked in and "caught" my superkid doing super moves in front of the mirror chanting, "I am adventurous!" ❤️❤️ Thank you superkids movement. Honestly, I think this had made a bigger impact on me then her. I see her in a whole new way, and it's beautiful. 🌈❤️

If you have a kid, you need this book. Now.
OK, so even before I was halfway through reading Dayna D Abraham's The Superkids Activity Guide, I already have a list of at least 5 kids in mind who NEED this book. Like today.(Last time I felt like this was when I read Jenny Lawson's book You Are Here.)If you have a child who struggles in any way:getting ready in the morning, forgetting stuff at school, worrying about little and big things, hygiene habits, meal times, transitioning, being patient, managing their energy, learning, focusing, playing with friends, going to sleepDayna wrote them a book that can help. Because yes, it's a book FOR kids. With brilliant activities to help them turn their days around. It's not quite as great as having Dayna with you to coach you, but it's the next best thing.(If you are an elementary school teacher you must also get this book. STAT. I'm serious.)

Not just for younger kids! Surprisingly helpful for my 5th grader.
I follow the author's blog, so when this book came out I was going to purchase it but I hesitated because I was afraid it would be geared towards preschoolers or younger kids. My superkid is in 5th grade so I didn't want her to feel like I was giving her "baby" activities to do. I was mistaken when I made that assumption, and I wish I would've purchased it earlier! My favorite activities include:-- DIY Timer (giving my kid a concrete example of moving time is crucial, yet I never thought to make a visual timer)-- Morning Routine Chart (moving each item from "to do" to "complete" motivates her like no other!)-- Morning Stretches (not something I'd think of, considering how rushed we always are - but they've helped my daughter's mindset change!)Many of the activities include supplies we already have on hand. I appreciate that the author put thought into these activities so we didn't have to rush to the store to get specialty items. The book is written TO your child, which is great for older kids so they can practice reading. My daughter definitely needs all the practice she can get. I cracked up when the book read "Adults always tell you to 'just breathe'. It's one of those things taught in adult academy." The book makes sense to my kid, and that's worth gold. There are 75 activities (!!) in this book, so I'm confident that no matter what age your child is, you'll benefit - and so will they! If you buy it for no other reason than to simplify your mornings, it's worth the price.

Realistic, useful, fun and doable.
This book arrived 2 days ago. I have enjoyed flicking through and seeing all the wonderful tools this book has to offer all in one book! Many of the visual tools such as the morning routine chart and the conflict spinner i have used before with great success. These tools have given my children a voice in the family and independence. I love how the book is written for the kids to read to me as the adult. I can't wait to try out the 'Clean detectives' on pg 31 this weekend with my 3 girls. They will love taking the photos of their messy rooms and then clean rooms. So many actual doable and fun tasks. Thanks Dayna for your time and effort. This will be a well worn book in our house.

For the Teacher, Parent and Grand Parents ~ GREAT book
Excellent layout and fun activities for all. I purchased one for my daughter's family and one for Grammy. I think I will get another to share/donate. Great ideas on unwinding, energizing, and different times of day or night.I pre-ordered, then Amazon had a slight price drop and refunded the money same day it was delivered.

Empowering for Kids!
It was hard to write this review because our kids wanted to read it first! It was neat to see them get inspired to improve their own learning. Our daughter thought the DIY Chewable Jewelry (p 99) might help her concentrate during homeschool and stop chewing her nails (a personal goal right now). She loves helping with her siblings and thought Waking Up With Animals Walks (p. 17) was something they could do together in the morning. Um, yes! Our son is fascinated with the Anti-Time Warp Timer (p. 23) and Straw Rockets (p. 127). We're working on his concentration and extra energy right now, and I think these will help! I also think he'll enjoy the Chill-Out Squish Balls (p. 87) and Weighted Snake Lap Buddy (p. 93). My husband's a Special Education Director and wanted a copy of his own after looking through it. We have to get him a copy since I'm not parting with mine :) So great for ALL kids!

A beautifully designed book
A beautifully designed book, with so many fun activities and suggestions for helping children and their parents understand how to cope with emotions. I follow Dayna's blog and I have always found her content to be encouraging, accurate and engaging. I'm so happy I preordered this book.. I'm not one to preorder things but I was genuinely excited about this book. Everything is carefully thought out, even down to the binding - it lays flat without the pages turning while you're referencing it for an activity. My son is only 5 and some things I think I'll wait to try when he's a bit older, but I love that these activities reinforce coping skills and reinforce what we are trying to teach him to know about himself: that he's unique, loved, and fearfully and wonderfully made!

I really wanted to love this book
I really wanted to love this book. I bought it after Rachel Macy Stafford recommended it on facebook. It's a brilliant concept. I love how it is laid out, the way the activities are divided into chapters and the general presentation of the book. I just bought crown caps and magnets to enable my daughter to do one of the organisation activities because it looks like it might be quite good fun. Which brings me to the downside: almost every activity that my daughter was interested in doing required us to buy things to enable us to make it and there is not a lot of overlap between the different things you need to buy so it's quite a lot of shopping if you want to get through all the activities. And it also means you need to plan ahead because you're unlikely to be able to pick up the book spontaneously and do an activity.

Best Book of the Year!
Dayna is starting a movement towards positive thinking and expression when it comes to our kids and their struggles. This book is absolutely amazing! It is filled with easy to understand language for kids, fun activities that help them overcome obstacles, and constant reminders of how super they really are! Love it so much and recommend it to EVERYONE. It took a while to ship, as they sold out, but was definitely worth the wait!!!

Hooray for Superkids!!!!
Dayna Abraham is a genius. Fun, empowering resource for both parents and kids. Lovely addition to all her online resources. Easy, cheap, and essential sensory tools to help all kids and guide parents of children with exceptionalities. As a parent and speech-language pathologist I am cheering about this book to anyone who will listen-families, teachers, and therapists! Bravo!
