I really like this antenna. It is easy to tune and install. I also have mine RF grounded. I tuned it with a Nano VNA, so that made it easy. I pick up a lot of skip stations from all over as well.

I've had this antenna for 3 years now and its held up great. For the longest time I had terrible SWR and I kind of always blamed the antenna and at one point wanted to write a negative review, but talk about user error! I didn't really care since the cobra 19 I had, I had bought for 20 bucks and I figured whats high SWR going to do if I'm only using it for a couple of off road trips through out the year? Well, I burned up the first CB a couple weeks ago and recently replaced it with a cobra 25LTD. This time I actually took the time to resolve the SWR issue and I was basically shorting out the antenna with a washer on the antenna mount where it shouldn't have been. Talk about user error! Once that was resolved I was getting 2 SWR on the get go on chan 19, it took, maybe 1-2 mins max and I'm at 1.4 SWR on chan 19.I did a lot of research trying to understand CB setups and antennas and how they work thinking I had a bad setup as I didnt realize I was shorting out my antenna mount, so I was expecting terrible SWR since the antenna is mounted on a winch bumper which isn't exactly ground plane material. So I am super happy that I'm able to get such great SWR off a winch bumper.But even if my story here is over rated or whatever I can assure you that the antenna is very durable. This thing has gone through many branches, hit many low hung signs and banged around on the concrete beams on the ceiling of parking lots. It also sits outside in the sun, rain, snow whatever year around and any cracks or fractures are yet to come.

Very easy to tune to the exact frequency. Wind noise is a bit loud due to a relatively large diameter to the antenna. It has excellent performance on both transmit and receive due to being top loaded.

I was having an endless struggle getting my CB to work properly. The SWR readings were way high and no matter how much adjustment I did with my previous antenna, I could not get them to move. The antenna check was also failing, even though all other signs pointed to it passing. Tore apart the cables, soldered the connects again, nothing work. I decided to just get the 4 foot FireStik and I am glad I did. I put it on and with very little adjustment I am getting near perfect SWR readings. I have clean and clear communication and couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend these Firestik antennas in whatever size works for you.Easily tunable with just your fingers. Flexible enough not to break with a slight breeze. 100% American made with 100% American parts, you can't go wrong! Works great with FireStik springs and other Firestik accessories.

I would rate the Firestick antenna as a 5 but their website could have been better and so I gave them a 4 overall.The Firestick II was part of the new CB rig that I setup on my Jeep Wrangler (JK) unlimited sport 4 door. Before buying an antenna I did some studying and research on the proper method of installation and the importance of the correct equipment. I was led to the Firestick web site where they have a wealth of information that one could learn from. My previous (8 years ago) CB rig used a magnetic mount antenna and it came with the CB. I knew very little about the different types of antenna and knew nothing about the need to use a SWR meter for a CB. Friends that have had two meter rigs used a SWR meter but I never knew that CB required adjustment.And so that is what was great about the Firestick web site. They kept it simple enough that I did not need to understand radio wave theory to learn how best to install the cable, mount and antenna. The only additional thing that I would have liked on their website would have been to have some pictures of various installations along with explanations of what works best. The saying that a picture is as good as a 1000 words is correct.But on to the subject of the antenna. I thought about getting the 3ft antenna but opted for the 4ft antenna instead. I mounted it to the spare tire carrier with a Rugged Ridge antenna mount. With the quick disconnect and spring it sticks about 3ft above the top of the soft top on my Jeep. I followed their instructions and went with a separate ground line and verified the electrical power was clean. The coax cable, quick disconnect and spring all came from Firestick. Upon power up for the first time I calibrated the SWR meter and tested the system. On Channel 1 the SWR was 1.3 but it went up to 1.6 on Channel 40, suggesting that the antenna is electrically too long. Therefore, the beauty of an antenna that was top loaded and has an adjustment screw. With some trial and error I was able to get it adjusted so that the SWR readings for all channels ranged from 1.15 to 1.3. I had to remove the brass lock nut to get it set just right. It is amazing how little things affect the SWR. Just for testing I measured the SWR with the spare tire swing gate open and closed. With it closed I was able to keep it below 1.3 on all channels. With it open the SWR went up to 1.8. I have not tried it with the soft top down but I do expect some differences since the soft top frame is only 6 inches from the antenna with the top up and it would be below the antenna when the top is down.The antenna is build strong and you can tell that the workers that made it took pride in their work.

FireStick antennas are well made and have worked flawlessly for me. This 4' antenna installed on my Jeep Wrangler JLU is no exception. In the past, I would use whatever antenna was available and had varied results. Through an off-roading colleague, I was introduced to the FireStick brand and haven't looked back. They are durable, dependable and I've experienced the best performance in terms of transmit/receive range using them. Please note, I do use an SWR meter to tune the antenna for optimal performance, but with most FireStick antennas I have, very little to no tuning has been necessary. If you are looking for a solid antenna, this is it!
