Casio HR-8TM Plus - Handheld Printing Calculator

So far, I'm liking this (desktop) calculator alot! It is much smaller than my old one, yet does all the same things, except print in red. No biggy. The fact that it's portable makes it even better! The only thing is, with a full roll of paper (not the little dinky roll that comes in the package), it is just a little bit awkward. If there is one thing I don't like about it, it's that the buttons are very sensitive. If I accidentally brush a button that I didn't want, it screws up what I was doing and I have to start over. I have to be very careful about errant fingers! It prints nice and dark...easy to read. Contrary to what the directions say about the transformer plug getting warm, I don't notice that at all, and I keep it plugged in (they recommend unplugging it to save electricity because supposedly it gets hot) If you want the convenience of portability, with the characteristics of a desktop business calculator, I think you will like this calculator, and I would recommend it!

I got this to replace one that was about 15 years old. It's not that the old one failed. It didn't. I just felt it was time. I needed a new ink pad for the old one and had lost the AC plug, so I just bit the bullet and got a new one. This calculator/printer is really reliable. I used it whenever I did trade shows to add up purchases. I never had a single problem with it, which is why I just got the same model. It's a nice size and can be used with or without the printing feature. It uses regular paper tape, not thermal, so it's easy to replace rolls and the ink lasts. I like to be able to run a tape so I can recheck my numbers without having to run them all over again. This is the best calculator I have ever used and highly recommend it.

This is a good calculator, but it does some weird stuff when it prints. If you hit clear, it will print a 08. There are also random numbers in the far right column as you do the math. For example, if I want to do 20 X 8 = 160, it prints out 201 X 89 = 1608. It's really weird. The more I use it though, the more the last number turns to a smudge. I don't know what is going on with it, lol. So if you get one and it does that as well, make sure you disregard the far right column of numbers. Other then that, it's great! It was easy to get the paper in (you have to cut the paper in a V shape with the tip of the V being fed into the machine). It comes with a tiny roll of paper. I can't imagine it would last long. So you definitely want to get some extra paper too. It takes standard 2 1/4 inch paper. It's compact, so that's great! It doesn't take up too much work space.

Really a nice calculator. Would not expect less from Casio but this is a handy size, love that it came with the ac adaptor and some paper. Fortunately it takes regular paper so I don't have to resupply after my old one died. Print is clear, haven't really looked to see if it will be difficult to change the ink supply. Buttons are all logical, kept accidentally turning my old one off in the middle of a run b/c a badly placed off switch. I think I'm going to appreciate this for a long time.

Love this little machine. My twenty years plus Canon adding machine suddenly stopped working and I needed a new one for doing taxes. This one wasn't expensive and had all the basic features I wanted. It's just the right size, too. It's fitted just right to fit into an average sized man's hand. It's easy to set up and use. No difficulties here. The roll of paper included is very small. If you buy this one, be sure to buy more rolls of paper.

I will never buy another Casio product. I will never recommend one, either. And I own a music school and am constantly asked which keyboard I recommend. I always said Casio. Reason: They are crooks and liars. I get this calculator and it doesn't even have an ink roller. Just one for "demonstration" purposes. You have to go out and buy an ink roller for it. Maybe I would have ordered one when I bought it, but now I have to make another order or go out and buy one. I need this calculator NOW. Not after I go hunting for a tiny ink roller. Furthermore, the "demonstration" ink roller wasn't in place and I had to get ink all over my hands to get it in. And there were no directions. And the directions that were on the sheet were hard to find in between all the other languages. In the future, if the manual is in Spanish, I will not buy. We speak English here. If I went to Spain, I would not expect everything to have English. I would expect Spanish. When they come here, they can learn English. Or they can leave.

I bought another brand larger printing calculator which worked fine... until I ran out of paper. Couldn't get the paper to feed. Then I bought this calculator. It is great!!! It's everything I need. Tell you the truth I also ran into a problem with the paper feed into it. However after researching I found the solution that has worked out perfectly. Cut the paper into a " /-\ " type of shape (diagonals on the side up to a straight edge) and put this smaller piece into the loading entrance. This worked out perfectly! Also if you use a mini-paper roll you can install it within the calculator, making it that much more compact. I bought this calculator for my 90 year old mother to do her checkbook. She loves it, if she can read it and work it, it will be great for anyone to use. It is a great calculator and I highly recommend it!

The calculator itself works great. The print quality is dark and legible. The paper it came with is less than to be desired. The paper was difficult to load and I have used various brands and sizes of printing calculators over the years and have never had the issues loading paper as I did in this model. It does not feed through the back and "catch". You have to feed it through the back and manually feed it within the calculator by removing the top piece. It is small, which was perfect for my son, but if you need it for business purposes, get the bigger model. I know if I has this one in my office, I would get quickly frustrated try to load more paper.

This Casio Calculator works as it should; that is the second one I bought, my old one lasted may be fifteen years and quitted due to the paper feeding rollers that started to loose traction (even if I tried to fix them), the rollers of this one seems to be built exactly as the old ones, so they should last quite a few years.

Mejor precio

After 23 months minimal use this product no longer works. I have returned it to Casio Services in accordance with their instruction and it has been returned to me as un-repairable. Customer Services are not prepared to help in any way. It seems I must buy another calculator. Should I buy Casio? A customer.
