I don't know about the car shutting off. I guess you're talking about when the battery is dead and you are running the power off the car battery, in which case I would listen to the others here. I don't like this one because it doesn't give me the option of starting where I left off when it gets unplugged when the battery is dead. I just got it so I don't know about all the ins and outs but that is one thing that was important to me. **Q: Does this have a av input?** A: No this does not have a av input.
