Quality Balsam Incense
I have purchased these same incense "logs" in the Adirondacks of New York State - the incense is the same quality product I purchased in tourist stores and shops. They burn well once lit and have a strong balsam scent that isn't totally "smoky", and fills a room with a great balsam/pine smell-I think it is one of the best incenses for a "balsam" smell I've found. I used several, one in two adjoining rooms, and the balsam lingered easily for a day or two (start out burning them one at a time to customize your scent...they can be overwhelming if too many are used at the same time).

Earthen Scent /Balsa Fir
Balsam Fir Incense brings up nostalgic memories Scent is of " the earth" not stinky, sickly perfume, etc Mini " logs" easy to light & fit snuggly in little wood stand provided Scent is not offensive Only downside - would like them to have longer burning time

Like a Campfire In The Woods
Smells like a campfire in the woods. Very pleasant. You really have to get it well lit or it goes out but if I want a lighter scent its kind of nice. Otherwise I just make sure it is burning really well before blowing out the flame.

Disappointing -- Stinks
Update: Downgraded from 2 stars to 1 star, and if I could rate it at zero stars I would. These don't smell at all like incense, or balsam fir. They smell like burning old trash. Absolutely horrible. I grew up with balsam incense from Maine, where my family visited my grandparents every summer. I bought this incense hoping for the same, familiar scent. I was sadly disappointed. The sticks or logs or whatever they're called ar very small, yet they are difficult to light and have them keep burning. And the scent is nothing like fir balsam. It's more like burnt paper. Not a happy camper.

Authentic pine-tree smell - strong
These have a super-authentic pine tree smell that I love. Learning to light them took a try or two, but isn't very hard. Keep a flame on it until it glows like a cigarette (it takes a few seconds). Then blow out the flame. Re-lighting them after they go out can be tricky, but a lot of them come in a box. I just get a new one, in the rare instance I need to extinguish one. They do work very well in that a lot of scent comes out of one piece. For my taste, the smell can quickly build up in a small apartment. I tend to put them in another room. You get a lot of bang for your buck. If you're looking for something light and subtle, this may not be your best bet. These are a staple in my house around the holidays. I really like them.

Kinda disappointed
Been buying these for over 25 years and they changed something because they are hard to light and they keep going out now. Disappointed but they do smell amazing when they work

Initial sticks all stopped burning halfway through - moisture issues suspected
Update to my below initial review... Last night, after the incense box had been hanging out in my warm, dry living room (due to wood stove), for several days, I lit some more. All these burned all the way to the base. I'm thinking my initial issue was due to moisture being absorbed by the incense and preventing it from burning correctly. Updated from 3 to 4 stars. ======= I remember these from years ago and decided to get some more because I love the smell. First, the positive - these smell just like I remember, were packaged well, and sticks were all intact. It takes a bit to first light them and get them going, but that is the same as I remember from some time ago. However, each and every stick burns halfway down and then burns out. I keep going, hoping that it was just a few that weren't burning well / fully, but it has been every single one I have pulled out of the box. I do not remember this being an issue with them in the past. Will be looking at a different brand in the future to see if they perform better.

Same ole nostalgic scent :)
Scent is still the same old reliable, but the incense is now small and stumpy as opposed to the older version. Luckily a new โstandโ accompanying it is enclosed
