It works! Haven’t slept in since I got it!
I’ll start by saying I was extremely conflicted on whether or not to buy this product. If you’re reading the reviews, you can see that most of them mention that the product didn’t work or worked fine for a bit and then stopped working. The problem is, anyone searching for a product like this is doing so because they are desperate and either want to fix a habit or NEED to wake up on time. My case was the latter. I had a horrible habit of sleeping in; I’m pretty sure I could sleep through an atomic bomb. I was at a point where every night I set four different alarm clocks all over my room (alarm clocks which were advertised as being the loudest on the market) and would still manage to sleep through them in the morning. My point being, if your looking at this product it’s because you need it to work, and they pretty much have the market cornered as there aren’t many other options for shocking alarm clocks. So, I took the chance and purchased it. And I am so glad I did. I don’t usually review, but this little watch has saved my butt and kept me from getting written up for yet again being late to work. It’s a little difficult to set up, it took me about an hour to figure out how to connect it to my phone and the app, but I did eventually get it set up. Once I did, figuring out the rest was simple. As long as I keep it charged and set my alarms on the app every night, it goes off in the morning without fail. Plus, the battery life is extremely long—I only have to charge it once every three days or so. The wrist band is pretty comfy, the material is some sort of silicone I think, and its smooth and cool on the skin. You do have to wear it reasonably tight though, so that the metal shocking part is pressed into the skin, otherwise it won’t shock properly. The shocking feature really is a shock. It’s not just a vibration (although there is an option to have it vibrate, and beep as well). I’m pretty tolerant to pain and was worried the shock wouldn’t work for me, but you can change the intensity of the shock, and I only need to set mine at 70% and oh BOY does it wake me up. Again, you can also set the product go vibrate and beep and shock, all at different intensities and combinations for every different alarm to you set. The only problem I’ve come across is resisting the urge to simply remove the wrist band in the morning. However, the shock itself is enough to wake me up enough that I’m not so groggy that I simply slap the snooze button. And the button on the watch is pretty difficult to press, so the snooze button is hard to hit. Overall, if you’re reading this review and are hesitant on buying a product that’s pretty expensive just to have it maybe work, well, I can confidently say that this thing has changed my life. I haven’t been late to work or school since I got it. I know it’s only been a month (and I hope I don’t jinx it by writing this review!) but so far it’s been amazing. If I run into any problems, I will update my review for sure. But again, if you’re like me and are interested in this product for waking up on time, IT IS WORTH IT!!!

Love it!
I'm using this product for two things: getting up on time and working on breaking my nail biting habit. It's been pretty helpful in getting me awake, especially with the jumping jacks setting because it makes me get out of bed. Of course I don't like get up, but it's doing its job, a good one at that, I can't complain! My only thing is that lately it's not going off in the morning as consistently anymore, but I'm not sure if it's my fault or if the alarm just stopped working. I'm trying to figure that out, but before this happened, everything was great. It's been relatively helpful on the topic of my nail biting habit. I use the hand raise detection feature, which is great, except it does detect my hand going up to my face like if I want to rest my chin in my hand, which I wish didn't happen, but that's just to be expected and it's doing its job. I would recommend using the shock right away for nail biting habit because I originally set mind for the vibrate, beep, then zap setting, but it's easy to go past it if you just put your hand down and then bring it back up, so I imagine it's more effective to set it to zap right away, which I'm going to start doing. Overall, my experience with it has been great so far! I have high hopes for my continuation of using it because it definitely helps and I'm sure I'm going to make even more progress on my habits while using it. EDIT: it was my fault, i forgot to turn the alarm back on

Terrible app
Shock Clock As other reviewers have said, I love the concept. However, the app is confusing, Faq center and info pages are circular and not helpful. Probably will return. The zap at 20% is good enough to get my attention because it does hurt a little bit. This is my first day with the device, and I want to try it out, but the only thing that works so far is shocking myself by pressing the button. I got it to wake myself up on time because I constantly hit the snooze button and then I'm running late and stressed out. I have not had the chance to use the alarm yet because I just srt up the device right now. I tried using the stopwatch, but it doesn't work properly. When I set it to one thing, like beep, it vibrates instead. When I set it to zap or vibrate, it beeps instead. I cannot get it to zap at all during the stopwatch mode. Now, no matter what I set it to, the stopwatch runs for about three milliseconds and then stops. The vibration and beep are BARELY noticeable, and I'm currently fully awake. I don't think the beep or vibration are strong enough to wake me up or to provide any reinforcement. I could be wrong, but that's what I think so far. I could not set the alarm to beep or vibrate first as a warning to do the jumping jacks to stop the alarm before receiving the shock. If it's automatically set that way, the app doesn't say that. It also doesn't say how many jumping jacks you need to do to turn off the alarm. I also got this because in the informational literature, it states that you can give friends the option to zap you remotely, but it doesn't tell you how to do that. The app only says something about adding friends' remotes. So does my partner need to download the app and enter my remote code to be able to zap me? If yes, nothing states that, and it also doesn't tell me how to find my remote code. I hate the way this thing looks. It looks cheap and bulky. It's am embarrassment to wear. I was going to buy the Pavlok 3 so I could attach it to my Apple watch, but I read a lot of reviews that said it literally fell apart very quickly, even on the first day. I've read negative reviews about this product, too, but I was so desperate that I decided to give it a try. I have also tried using a certain alarm app on my phone. I would tell you the name of it, but I think Amazon might take down my review if I do. I think I can say to search for an alarm app that makes you do squats to turn off the alarm. That app has free functions, and so far, it has mostly worked for me. And free is much better than $150! I'm annoyed that the app is the way it is. It doesn't actually tell you how to break a bad habit. It just lists a bunch of bad habits that it says it can help you break. But maybe since you can only work on one bad habit at a time, that's why I can't figure out the app. Maybe by already choosing to work on waking up on time, I've inadvertently locked other habits away from myself on the app. I want to use this device to work on at least three bad habits. Why can't I work on more than one habit at a time? This is very frustrating for $150. Again, my main issue is that the app doesn't work properly. So disappointing!!! Omg it busy keeps getting worse! The settings on the app are messed up. Earlier, when I set the zap to 20%, or was high enough to give me an effect. Then, when I used the timer, it was very weak at 20%, so I turned it up to 40%, and that was sufficient. Then, the timer stopped working, just like the stopwatch had stopped working earlier today. Now, the timer doesn't even work. I think the problem is with the app, not the device. I did a test alarm to see how powerful the 40% zap would be, and again it went back up to being more powerful like before. I think that because this is an electric shock device, it's extremely important to have the settings calibrated so you don't accidentally hurt yourself by choosing a percentage number that yields a low shock in one place in the app and a higher shock in another place in the app. Wow, it is really sad that this company has such poor execution of such a great idea. Maybe I'll ask my dad (an engineer) to work on making a better one and we'll become rich.

Nice "watch" but a bit clunky
It's not really a watch, it's just an alarm, but I have an Apple Ultra Watch 2. Honestly, I think I'll wear them both. I bought it for the shock alarm, naturally. I just got mine yesterday afternoon. I tried out the shock and vibrate functions. The beeper is a bit weak, I though the slider would've adjusted volume but it seems to adjust tone/frequency only. The shock feature, on the other hand, is what I wanted, and it doesn't disappoint. At about 25-30% the shock is pretty good. At 100% not only does it feel like you got struck by lightning, but it is strong enough to make my arm jerk. If I were asleep, I would need to be careful that I didn't knock something or someone. It will definitely wake me up. I'm also excited about the QR code feature. Just don't put the shock up too high if you want to locate your QR code far away to force yourself to get out of bed, because otherwise you're going to get shocked, a LOT. In my case, my QR code will go at my computer desk where I work (I work at home), to force me to start my day. That means (at present) I will have to traverse a flight of stairs while getting zapped. Hopefully there will be no accidents in a half awake state. The vibrate function is a bit weak. I will leave it maxed out and use my Apple Watch alarm also, which also has a weak vibrate function (but it does wake me up, I just usually wind up dismissing the alarm and falling back asleep). The band and the watch are physically two pieces. The actual "watch" fits inside the band and presses two metal ends against your skin that are the electrodes for the zapper. I'm curious to know if an ankle strap would work with this instead of having to wear it as a watch to make it stealthy. Maybe you could hide it under a pair of socks? It would be better if the software were a bit more basic. Right off the bat, it tried to get me to setup a habit breaker, so I set it up to "quit smoking" (I vape). Of course, I only bought this for the alarm, so I don't want this feature and there doesn't seem to be a way to disable having at least one reminder. One thing that was odd was it seemed like the software immediately tried to bill me for its use, and for what I don't know. It kept saying something like "billing failed" or so, which is good because I hadn't even used the app yet to try out the basic features, let alone purchase the premium version. I just want the basic app that comes with the watch - sorry Pavlok, you're not getting more money from me. Anyway, the watch is nice, but I think it's a bit overpriced for what it is, especially considering it doesn't even show the time, which is the whole point of a watch, IMO. It should NOT require the use of a phone, however it does seem to work as is. Combined with my sleep earbuds or even just a pair of earplugs, this is a great "silent alarm" for situations where you can't make or don't want to make noise. I knocked off a star for the lack of a display and the clunkiness of the app and the watch overall, and of course, the high price for what you get.

MUST READ - MY LIFE IS CHANGED. I LOVE IT.
Holds a charge well! Charges fast, will still work even if your phone is off or not connected. I personally use this to wake up for work. Before I found this I had an alarm clock that vibrates the entire bed / pillow, about 10-15 alarms on my phone as well as my husband's phone. Neither of us would wake up to them 3/5 days of the week. It was a real issue. I don't wake up to anything. I was worried I might lose my job. So I got this. The shock doesn't hurt, I only have to set it to 50% but after my second week the craziest thing happened! So it starts off with a vibrate, then beep, then it shocks you. For the first few days I got shocked. It worked but I was not happy. Then I kept waking up in the night for a few nights afraid I was about to get shocked. Then I started waking up to the quiet beeps, so I could prevent the shock. Now I wake up to the VIBRATION! I am A CHANGED WOMAN. This thing trained my mind to associate the vibration and quiet beeping with being shocked so well that I wake up immediately the first time it starts to vibrate. It's the most insane thing, I really thought I was a lost cause but this saved me. Now here's the best part. My husband is the same way. So when I leave for work I put it on him, and have it set for the time he needs to wake up and it works for him too!!! Even when my phone is miles away with me at work. It remembers and stays set by itself without needing to be paired. That's amazing. And he can turn off the alarm manually and he's good to go. We are so happy. Buy it!!!!! Side note - you can also use this to quit bad habits by manually shocking yourself which is all adjustable. I'm going to try it to quit smoking next. And this thing reads your sleep. Must I say more?! It does a million things. It's a life saver. Worth every penny to not feel like a bad employee.

Worked well, while it worked.
Worked really well and as expected for almost a year. The shocks were strong and were great at waking me up. I sometimes had a little difficulty in the mornings reconnecting to the app to turn off the alarm. Battery life is pretty good. Only need to charge once a week. Unfortunately after about a year of use, the shock feature stopped working. The vibration still works so I’m still able to use it that way for now. However one side of the battery housing is loose and comes off l, so I’m not sure how much longer it has left before I have to retire it.

Saved my butt at work
I dont usually write reviews but I really love this product and the customer service is amazing. I bought it not long ago to help me wake up in the morning. I'm one of those people that can sleep through 20 alarms and probably the apocalypse. This alarm wakes me up no problem tho. I'll be cursing up a storm at 5am doing jumping Jack's but I'm so glad I purchased it. My buckle broke after the first night which was very inconvenient but customer service was wonderful and able to send me a new one in just a few days! I couldn't afford the price at the time so I used Klarna to make it easier for me in smaller payments. If you are having issues getting up and out of bed then buy it. It's worth the money. Update: been about 10 months and the shock function has stopped working. Pretty sad about it really. The vibration and the chime still work but the zap is completely gone now. I talked to customer service and was able to get it replaced with their 1 year warranty. They even upgraded my device for me which is so sweet! They reimbursed me for shipping my old device and everything! 11/10 on their customer service. They are so nice and helpful. If you are contemplating getting the product then dont... just buy it! It's so worth the money!

Works great...occasionally..
I have tried just about every kind of alarm clock I could find and have always had serious issues waking up. I have slept through fire alarms, slept through an alarm that has a vibrating attachment inside my pillow case, slept through alarms that probably have woken up my neighbors, nothing ever consistently worked for me. I was very hesitant to spend $150 on another gadget in the hopes that it would actually work for me but I finally gave in and purchased this in May. The good: -The shock function of this thing is great. I don't think I've slept through a shock since I have had this. -Jumping Jack and QR Code functions are definitely great ideas and work well...sometimes. -The band and device are comfortable and do not feel as bulky or cheap as some other reviewers have mentioned. They could both definitely be improved upon but overall they are not bad. The bad: -The connectivity between this and my phone is incredibly spotty. Sometimes it connects right away and stays connected, sometimes it takes an act of Congress to get it to connect and keep it connected. None of my other bluetooth devices have this issue so I know it isn't a problem with my phone. -Jumping Jack and QR Code functions both have incredibly frustrating problems. The jumping jack function lets you set the number of jumping jacks you have to do before it stops shocking you but this thing apparently hasn't ever attended a math class in its life. Regardless of how many jumping jacks I set it for it can either take 3-4 to shut it off or 30-40. Very rarely will it shut off at the correct number of jumping jacks. The QR code issue works well but due to the connectivity issues I mentioned earlier it takes entirely too long to get the alarm to stop shocking you. It disconnects from the app before the alarm goes off, yet is somehow still connected enough to show you on the app that you need to scan the code to turn the alarm off. During the time it is shocking you it won't allow you to connect and then when it stops and lets you try connecting it takes so long that the alarm starts shocking you again. This loop cycles 5-6 times before you can get it to connect and actually scan the code. On the bright side, I'm always wide awake by the time I can finally get it turned off. -Finally(and most importantly), the shock function has started to only work when it wants to. Sometimes it works flawlessly, sometimes it does absolutely nothing. I have no idea what is causing the issue but it's very frustrating to have spent $150 on an alarm that only functions sometimes. I didn't buy this because I want to wake up on time every now and then. I bought this because I want to wake up on time every time. If this was several years old or had been damaged in any way it would be understandable for it to be unreliable. It's only a few months old and has spent its entire life either on my wrist in bed or on my nightstand. I looked on Pavlok's website to check the warranty and they have a note that Amazon customers have to send their product back to them before a replacement will be issued. So now I have to decide if it's worth the risk of keeping it and hoping it decides to work correctly or to send it back and not have it at all for an unknown amount of time while they decide if they want to honor the warranty. Neither are really good options and nothing about this feels like it has been worth $150.
