Review: The perfect mat for me - I've been on a mission these last few months to find the perfect yoga mat for me, and this Gaiam is the one I keep coming back to. It's not the most expensive mat out there, but it's not exactly cheap, either. It has a really nice thickness to it that provides a good amount of cushioning, but I don't sink in or feel my feet slipping during poses. It's sticky, but not too sticky. Most importantly, it doesn't move around on carpet, which is important since the only space I have to practice in my small condo is carpeted. (I tried out a few mats that made me feel like I was trying to balance on a banana peel because they constantly moved on the carpet, so that is something that was very important to me!) It doesn't hurt that this mat is nice to look at. I love all of the colors and find them soothing to look at as I practice. I've only been using the mat for about a month, so I can't speak to durability yet. But I have used it 3 times per week since it arrived and it still looks brand new, so fingers crossed! Overall, I would definitely recommend this mat. In fact, I like it so much I'm tempted to get another one in a different color. Because I like having options to suit my mood. ;-)

**Q: Does it come with a strap or way to carry it?**
A: No. Unfortunately there is no carrying strap or anything like that included w/this mat.

**Q: is it slippery?**
A: Yes, it is slippery. That was my experience. It is especially slippery in downward dog and plank. I've had it for months and it still feels slippery. Other than that, I like the mat very much.

**Q: Is this mat made in China?**
A: Yes, says right on the packaging.

**Q: How to clean the mat?**
A: I haven't washed this one yet. But usually I wash my mats in the washer machine with a couple of towels on top so it doesn't float.

I've been on a mission these last few months to find the perfect yoga mat for me, and this Gaiam is the one I keep coming back to. It's not the most expensive mat out there, but it's not exactly cheap, either. It has a really nice thickness to it that provides a good amount of cushioning, but I don't sink in or feel my feet slipping during poses. It's sticky, but not too sticky. Most importantly, it doesn't move around on carpet, which is important since the only space I have to practice in my small condo is carpeted. I have really been enjoying this mat as part of my at home exercises. I use it for stretching and floor work like abs and glutes. It is very sturdy and provides a nice amount of padding. My knees and joints do not hurt while I am using it. The design is beautiful and the colors look exactly like they did online. It has a slightly sticky feel that helps me keep my grip during different poses. I also like how lightweight it is. It is very easy to roll up and move around the house or take with me to a class. This is a quality product for a very good price.
