#48 Polished Brass Finish Door Knob Set for Surface Mount Mortise Locks

After years of a floppy front door knob I replaced it with this. Apparently, the threads on the 1948 door know were too worn, so it wouldn’t screw on far enough to take up the slop. This screwed on snugly and just shy of the escutcheon, so it was tight. The quality (look and feel) was so-so but it worked and that’s the main thing. I’m glad I got it and could help my mom.

Item looked as it should but had to return it cause it didn’t fit my door properly. I bought the wrong knob. If you have the same knob and just need a new look this is great for the price

The knob was almost perfect. The shank was just a bit too small so I returned it. This is where I have complaints. The seller has a 20% restocking fee and requires the box to be sent back in another box even though it was shipped in its original packaging. If I had known about their return policy I would have found a different seller.

Item arrived in a bag...ugh, and the flimsy mfg box looks like it's been "around the block" a few times at least. Obvious that the knob assy did not work for someone else. Had screw driver marks on screws. It looked like the old Marks knob assembly so I tried it.Found that the tabs on the spindle are not even and too long on one side. It won't fully turn the latch inward. Sorry that I didn't order the Mark's assy. Regretfully I will be returning this one.You may find that a different one of the model by Em D Kay isn't flawed but I don't want the hassle to try it again and it not be right either.Amazon...please trash this one so no one else has to deal with it.

I have an antique Mortise lock from the 1950’s. Last year the spindle broke.It worked well for awhile. But then i started having issues with the knobs couldn’t find any that fit the spindle.But these work great. I’m very happy that i going something without having to replace the entire lock or spend a ridiculous amount on an antique replacement.

I have an old house with old doors, beautiful plates and fixtures. I could not get the right threads, spindles, screws etc but wanted to keep the old 1920 look. This handle legit went right in, turn to tighten, tighten a few screws and done. MAYBE took 10 minutes and works perfectly in the door. 10/10 would just skip the year of fixing the old knob and buy this.
