No box & numbers not good
Bought this as a present. Only discovered that it doesn't come in a box (only a mass of bubble wrap) by searching the description to the end (you need to click on the more info and the fact that there's no box is there at the bottom.) What's worse is that the "engraved numbers" are "painted" with black, and it's not a particularly accurate job. It looks like the painter gave up on the will to live halfway through doing it.As for its sturdiness and accuracy, only time will tell.

Next time you're lost at sea and don't have a sat-nav on hand, you'll not go too far wrong with this little diamond. Provided, that is, you know how to use it... no manual provided!

Does not work
Buyer beware! The instrument we received is not functional. This is an attractive brass instrument that would look very nice on a shelf however for anyone that wants a working tool this is not it. By the time my 14 year old had worked out how it should work it was after the 30 day return policy and so we could not even get our money back. The issues he was able to spot were; the horizon mirror is not perpendicular with the body of the sextant and you cannot adjust it, and the shades are not properly aligned with the mirrors and are too small so are useless at reducing the suns brightness. He also had to use bluetac to keep a few loose bits from moving. Going to look for a proper one now.

Sieht top aus und scheint auch gut verarbeitet zu sein. War ein Geschenk für meinen Vater, der sich ein Boot gekauft hat. Er muss jetzt nur noch lernen wie man es benutzt 😄
