Ampeak 750W Power Inverter, 12V DC to 110V AC, 11 Protections

Perfect for my camper to power small refrigerator.

Wish I still had this device it was lost in crash works absolutely fantastic would definitely recommend getting this device I used it a lot working wild fires to power my radio chargers and light chargers never over heated or anything worth the money

I have had at least a doz. inverters of various MFG over the last 18 yrs.These devices are usually very cheaply made and are very prone to failure.THIS inverter has 2 easily accessable 50A fuses.Hoping it will operate better.The case is plastic but looks sturdy.USB ports are 2.8A so charging will be slower.Fan does not run constantly so it is NOT a major power drain.I used this 1 weekend to run 3 guitar amps/20A-20A-50A, and a 5 pedal board.Very little hum or interference.The fan did not run with this load.Like it!

Most car power outlets (used to be called cigarette lighter sockets) max out at around 250W, so using this size Inverter may blow the 20A fuse (about $2.00) protecting this circuit. If you need the rated capacity of 750W use the the Ampeak provided heavy wire gauge alligator clips for a direct Battery/ inverter hookup. A warning is contained in the instructions but is vague about the exact wattage. My car has a 2500W hard wired (2g) Inverter for large capacity ie: powering certain of my house's appliances when the electricity goes out. Most times, 250W is quite sufficient for In-Car use.

Seems to be working good after 3 months of use covered, outside. Using it to run bug zippers for my chickens.

I bought this inverter to provide 110 vac power in the event of a power outage. I particularly like the flexible approach the designers have used to provide 12 vdc power to the inverter. The unit with comes battery clips for connection directly to a 12 vdc battery for high power output, and a cigarette lighter plug for low power use. There are two grounded AC outlets and two USB connectors for charging smartphones, tablets, and the like. Connecting directly to the battery terminals allows maximum AC output as the clips and their short wires can handle the high dc current needed to produce maximum rated output. The cigarette lighter plug is rated to be used at under 120 watts AC for extended periods. I wired a third power connection option, shown in the picture. This cable allows connection to my DC power source with its Anderson Powerpole connector. This will easily handle the 360 watt limitation of my DC source. The device itself has a useful on-off switch and LED indicator showing that it is ready. By my measurement, the unit used under 5 watts without load, about 0.4 amperes at 12 vdc. There is a rear-mounted fan to cool interior components during periods of heavy usage. I have used the unit only for limited testing, but if it is as rugged internally as it is well designed externally, I expect to be pleased with it overall.

I purchased the unit in May 2020 but the pandemic got in the way. So I am headed out on a camping trip in two weeks (2021) and I wanted to bring my coffee maker. The coffee maker is rated 650 watts and the inverter is 750 watts. When I connected the coffee maker to the car battery for a test run, the red error light started to flash slowly and I got a slow beep as well. The owner's manual (at least the one that came with my unit) did not cover flashing red lights, only solid red lights. So folks, here is what a flashing red light meant in my case: the power source is not strong enough. Here is the email I got from Ampeak after 4 or 5 back and forth emails and some hit and miss diagnoses on their part: 1. Our technicians would like to suggest that you check your battery voltage. Would you check whether the battery voltage is close to 11v? If the battery voltage is too low, the inverter will enter the low-voltage protection state, the red indicator light flashes, and an alarm sounds, the inverter can still run continuously, so the coffee machine can also work normally. 2. And please confirm whether the battery is full of power. If not, please charge it to full and test the inverter and device again. we recommend you use 100mah battery. My battery tested fairly weak so I replaced it with a 100mah battery which cost $400. Pretty expensive cup of coffee.
