easy as point n spray
works great for testing smoke alarms. You do need to use about 1/4 of the can, depending on the smoke sensor, to trigger it. Overall, very easy to use and good value for money for testing alarms.

Works, but so doesn't a cheap match
Seems to use a lot of the spray before activating the alarm. Easy to use, aim and spray at the smoke detector. A little pricey.

it WORKED!
It worked! I bought 3 smoke alarms from Amazon (and I gave them only a 1 star rating because it failed to detect the water steam vapor from my cooking test). I found out later that the particular smoke detector i bought will NOT detect water steam vapor.) So I bought this can ... It says to spray for 1/2 second to 1 second but that did NOT trigger the alarm. So sprayed for 2 - 3 seconds and ALARM! ALARM! ALARM! So it's a good feeling knowing the money I spent for the 3 alarms and the time it will now take me to position them ... that the smoke detectors WILL WORK in an emergency ... thanks to this little can of smoke (but I didn't see any smoke, it's supposed to spray "particulates" that behave like smoke fire ... and it worked!)

Work as advertised
Just tried it and worked great. Just a very short 2 second burst and short few second wait was all it took for my x-sense smoke alarm.

Doesn't take much
I think I held the spray button down for 2 seconds and the alarm triggered after a couple seconds. It wouldnt put itself back on standby mode for 15 minutes. This stuff is powerful. You don't need to use much.

Works OK, but leaky canister
Used it once and it worked fine. I tried again a year later, the canister was empty. It must have been leaking.

Works
Tried testing with candles and I couldn’t get detectors to go off so I was quite concerned. Used this and after 5-10 seconds as stated on the can, the detectors went off. Then after about 10 seconds, as stated on the can, they stopped. Worked perfectly.
