Full Size Thinline Acoustic Electric Guitar with Free Gig Bag Case & Picks Blue Right Handed

Well, here I sit with sore fingers after yet another session with this beauty. This is a fantastic guitar at a great price. It looks great, and the thinline body makes it easy to get to the strings...it's just closer to your body. The stock strings are decent, but I put some D'Addario EJ17 (medium gauge) on the guitar and it sounds amazing. Strings make a heyooge difference. I invested in a Super Snark electronic tuner and it's an easy and fun way to get a guitar in-tune quickly. I went down to .012 D'Addario Phosphor Bronze strings and this thing really sings with these strings. I tried 80/20 (that's 80% percent Bronze to Zinc) and I thought the guitar was too bright with these. Because of the woods used; Nato wood for the body (a less-expensive Eastern Mahogany) with Spruce top and Rosewood fingerboard, the guitar projects very well...surprisingly so. It's not a full Dreadnought body, but it plays almost like one to my ears...and I'm a big fan of that Martin sound. I also compared this to a Simon and Patrick Woodland Spruce, and it holds up well. It's amazing that they avoided laminate in a guitar this inexpensive, assuming the Nato body isn't laminate. The action is pretty good, and the strings aren't overly far from the neck, though some people have shaved down the bridge for a little easier action. Any good luthier can set this guitar up for you, or if you're the daring type you can do this yourself. Some have mentioned improving the pickup with a EQ 505R Pickup, which I may very well do myself. I haven't tried the guitar in an amp yet, but acoustic amps are expensive! So far I like the Fishman Loudbox Artist, since it has real control over guitar and mic (in the same amp) and has a headphone jack. Yes. Headphone jack! This is a must when you live in an apartment or as I do, a townhome with shared walls. This is an amazing value. I'm just a casual beginner guitarist getting back to guitar after decades playing other instruments. This guitar is gorgeous in appearance and it's quite easy to play, even for people with smaller hands like me. My guitar playing has really improved....and it's all because this instrument was both affordable and great quality that my interest in guitar-playing (and skill) has reached a new level. I'd happily buy another one if something happened to this one, and can heartily recommend it. 5 Stars!

Ok, so you are asking, "Is this really a five-star guitar?" That is not what 5-stars means in Amazon speak. 5 stars means you love the product. That is a different standard than, "this is one of the most finely crafted guitars in the world, and should be selling for $5000." I still think this is a nice guitar. Not being able to compare side by side, I would guess that the electric side of the guitar is not up to snuff compared to a Taylor "expression" system, but this guitar cost $85! My Washburn has a richer sound, but it has 2 more inches of depth to the body. The Jameson does have a good sound, though; it does not sound like a cheap "play" guitar. Before I found out about this guitar, I was interested in a Yamaha APX 500ii thinline cutaway guitar, which is a directly competing product. It is not the same product rebranded by Jameson though, there is more of a curve to the APX body, the headstock is shaped different, the electronic controls look different, and the soundhole on the Yammie is elliptical. The Yamaha cost $300, and after testing it, I was not going to pay $300 for that sound. I remember feeling deflated after testing the APX, because I thought I had found the answer to my search, as the APX has a similar nutwidth and scale length as my electric. I think the Jameson sounds way better. I did have to do a little setup. The action was really high when I got it. I tightened up the truss rod, which changed the action like a champ, and improved the sound, as well, IMHO. The strings were really loose when it came, which is not unusual for new strings. Had to tune them up. Having changed my share of strings in the past 2 years, I know that strings stretch when first put on and you have to retune for the first several plays. Blue was not my first choice, but that is my fault, because I hemmed and hawed about taking the plunge on this guitar. When I first stumbled upon it, I was interested in the natural. It is sold out. I am glad I didn't wait until all of the Jameson guitars were sold out. Don't you be the person left out in the cold. Why did I want this guitar: I am 45, but I have been playing guitar for only 2 years. I have an electric guitar, an Epiphone ES-339 Pro, and an acoustic, a Washburn WD-32SW. I mostly am studying electric blues, but I also like bluegrass, Christian praise songs, and some classic rock, like Joe Walsh. Well let's face it, I like many other genres, but there is only so much time. Why get another acoustic? At least 4 reasons: 1) I wanted an acoustic/electric guitar; 2) the Washburn, which I also love, has a different nut width and scale length than my electric. I feel like that messes me up when I switch between them. With my right hand, I sometimes miss with the pick when I go from the smaller nut width to the larger, because the strings are spaced out more. With the left hand, it is easy to go from a narrower nut to wider, but going back to narrower can lead to accidental muting of strings, or at least not hitting the strings exactly where you want on the tips of your fingers, until you reacclimate. In talking to experienced guitarists, people just get used to going back and forth between nut widths, but I am either not there yet, or it is harder to learn to switch back and forth when you start playing as a middle aged person. I was very interested in a Taylor 414CE, with a factory customized neck/fretboard to match my Epiphone nut width and scale length. What was holding me back? The cheapest price I could find for the Taylor was roughly $1800, with the customizations. 3) I would like to have an acoustic that is tuned open, so that I can fiddle around with slide guitar blues. I still will have some right hand issues if I tune my Washburn to open, but hey. 4) The Washburn, which has a beautiful sound (google this particular model) is a dreadnought. I just have never really fit quite right into a dreadnought, at least while standing up. I wanted a smaller bodied acoustic.

As a beginner guitar player, I wasn't quite ready to fork over a lot of cash for an expensive guitar. This one seemed like a great price and looked cool so I went with it. I have been using it for a few months now, so I feel ready to leave a review. For looks, you can't beat the price, to me it looks like a much more expensive guitar. The included case was very nice to have on hand as well, I occasionally use it to carry around the guitar and it is nice to have it protected. As far as playing the guitar as it was when I got it, I would say it is OK but not great. In my opinion, a guitar (regardless of how cheap it is) should come from the factory properly adjusted, without any fret buzz etc. This one definitely had that going on and I did some research on how to adjust it to get rid of that, tried a few different recommendations but nothing seemed to work. I ended up having to remove the strings, add a very thin shim below the bridge to raise the strings up a bit, and that did seem to help, although after tightening up the strings again the high E string snapped. Not entirely surprising, as this is a cheaper guitar and thus will probably have cheaper strings, not a huge surprise. I bought a good set of higher quality Elixir (light) strings and installed, it sounds so much better now. So with a few modifications, it now sounds like a pretty decent guitar. So if you are looking for a budget guitar that looks great, but are OK with making some adjustments to make it sound better, this is a great choice. If you don't want to modify and want to just have a great guitar without dealing with all of that, I would recommend buying a more expensive guitar.

For starters, Musician's Discount Warehouse has incredible customer service. The shipping speed on this was awesome. Ordered on a Wednesday, received on that Friday. And only 10 bucks to ship. The guitar itself is beautiful. Wonderful construction; nothing about the body is weak or gives any indication that it's anything other than quality. I must say that the color is even more vibrant in person; no chips, no scratches. The die cast tuners are lovely, and it stays in tune with consistency. The thinline body is a really nice bonus; it's so much easier to wrap your arms around the body of the guitar. I haven't used it yet with an Amp, so I can't speak as to the quality of the electrical side of it, but I have no reason to believe it won't be good, since everything else about this beauty is so good. On top of that, it's a relative unspoken rule that you restring a guitar when you get it, as most come pre loaded with steel strings, and brass are much higher quality and produce a better sound. So imagine my surprise when this guitar came *already strung with brass strings*. I actually didn't need to restring it, as the strings are of sound quality on their own. So now I guess I have a spare set. In closing, I can guarantee you as someone who spent days pouring over the hundreds of acoustic guitar options here that you will NOT find a better deal for this price. There is no way you're going to find a full size acoustic that is this well made, with this beautiful and rich of a sound for 90 bucks. I don't even know why they're so cheap; they could honestly get anywhere from 150 to 200 dollars for this instrument, and I'm sure it'd still sell. The bottom line is: get one now before they raise they price, haha. A great instrument at an unbeatable value. ***Edited to add: Wow! When I wrote this review, there were only 3 of them. I see now many others have contributed their thoughts, and I just wanted to say that a year and a half later, it is still the best buy I've made on Amazon. For $100 total, YOU CANNOT GO WRONG HERE.

I absolutely love this Jameson guitar! I had never heard of the brand before, and I took a gamble on it; I think it was somewhere between $90 and $100 when I bought it. I needed something that could plug in, because I have a more expensive Jasmine guitar that does not have a pick up, and to get a good pick up installed on that would cost more than the guitar is really worth. I like everything about this guitar! The cutaway makes it easy to reach the higher frets, the sound is spectacular, the pick up versatility controls are excellent, and I love the thin body. The bag that came with this guitar is just a half step above being worthless, but in all honesty, we don’t buy this guitar for the bag. I just went to a local music store and bought a quality gig bag for it. The intonation is fantastic, I dropped some fresh Martin strings on there when I first got it, and it sounds beautiful. I am actually going to replace the tuning pegs with some Gotoh tuners, but you don’t necessarily have to do that. The tuners that came with it are pretty decent - they hold a tuning, and are pretty smooth, especially for the price point, but I wanted something a little bit more precise. Again, that’s just a personal preference, but if you are on the fence about this guitar, I highly recommend it, I have been playing guitar for almost 30 years and I’m no pro, but I have a pretty decent idea on what I am talking about. I have owned four or five acoustic guitars over the years, and this is my go to one now. I mostly play electric, but I absolutely love this Jameson acoustic! They could easily sell this for $250. We bought this in 8/2016. The good: It is an okay guitar, the sound is good, it's lightweight and a nice size for a pre-teen or teen. It's smaller than a dreadnought and not a loud, but the tone is nice and rich. The bad: The place where the amp cord plugs in will come unscrewed and fall inside of the guitar - this is a huge pain to get back in place and tightened down. Make sure you check to ensure it is tight frequently. This has happened several times since it was a few months old, then we learned to check the nut on the outside all of the time and tighten it to prevent future occurrences. Now at 1 year old, it is buzzing when it is played - frets, the saddle, the pins, somewhere something is loose and causing this, I don't feel like I want to take it to a shop and spend $50-100 to get it fixed when it cost $100 to buy it. It was worth it to find out if our son would keep playing the guitar I guess.

First of all this review is for the product only and does not rate Amazon's service or delivery speed or packaging related issues. As a guitar player for 38 years I will go over the most important things a professional would be looking into that collectively make up the guitar's quality. Starting with the obviously cheap price in which this guitar gives a rather large bang for the buck and why. For $87.00 plus tax you not only get a great sounding acoustic/electric guitar, you'll be provided with a 1/4" male to male guitar cable, a strap, an extra set of strings, truss rod wrench, and some guitar picks. The 9V battery for guitar's preamp/EQ is also included and a gig bag to protect the cosmetics and paint job. The intonation is dialed in pretty accurately and the action and relief make it easy to fret without fret rattles. This is also a great guitar to modify. Tuners would be the first thing I would soup up because they are typical stock tuners and I prefer something with an 18:1 turn ratio for fine tuning. A bone end nut and saddle would be next and finally I would change out the preamp/EQ for some Fishman gear. The guitar is pretty light and thin and wouldn't be hard to crush so that's something to beware of. For $87 it would at least still be good fire wood and buying a replacement is super cheap. I've only had mine for a day so it's hardly long enough to do this review justice but if anything breaks I will update anything that needs to be. But I think any guitar player looking for a good quality super cheap guitar, I'd say this is the one to get without a doubt. There are some other brands like Ashthorpe that I haven't tried yet but maybe some day.

Great little guitar for the price, made well with a solid build, looks high quality, doesn't look cheap at all. Paint job shines with a glossy finish. Smooth all around the body, neck and head. It sounds good right out of the box which is double boxed for good protection during shipping, I was impressed by that. Finger strumming is medium volume but once you add the pick it picks up big-time. It plays low with low action meaning the strings are closer to the frets on the finger board which is a good thing. Frets are nice and solid. It has a plastic nut and saddle with plastic string pegs. Switch them to bone and the string pegs to wood & I'm sure it would sound even better than it does now, not to mention adding new strings of your choice. The equalizer is nothing special with no battery and just a volume and passive tone control. I've plugged it into a Fender Frontman 10G amp & it gets loud and comes to life with great sound. It doesn't have the top guitar pin on the body for a guitar strap which is disappointing because it does have the bottom guitar pin. The gig bag was too small, it didn't want to zip up, was way too tight and I risked scratching the guitar if I tried to force it, that sucked. I'm still using the strings it came with and they sound good still. Great paint job, glossy coating that makes it shine. Tune it up and tighten the tuners and anything else & you're ready to jam out. Can't beat the price at just below $100 dollars you get a high quality guitar believe it or not. Get a couple capo's & some picks and you're good to go ready to jam out. Invest in an amp also just to have more fun. I'm happy with this purchase, I've been having fun with this guitar after years of not playing. Peace.
