Soft and simple to sew
My husband tore his Achilles tendon and the doctor put him in a cast for the next month to let it heal. He's on crutches, and almost immediately his hands began to blister from the unaccustomed friction. In addition, he was experiencing rubbing under his arms from the crutch handles. I called the doctor's office for advice, and they said sheepskin was the best for cushioning and said the synthetics worked well and were easier to use, being washable. I thought it would be better to get a large sheet and make several sets of crutch covers so he could rotate them with use. It's summer here in the desert, so things get sweaty fast! This arrived quickly via Prime, and was in a lightweight box for efficient shipping. I am sewing the crutch covers (tops and hand-holds) today and will post photos when they are all finished. The synthetic sheepskin cuts easily with my sewing shears, and it doesn't roll or fray, which is nice. It is soft to the touch and I think it's going to make him much more comfortable!

**Quality of Life MUST
I am so grateful to have found these to comfort my sick dog in his final months. These kept him dry. I put a washable pee pad under. You could touch the Sheepette and it would be dry. Lift it up and the oee pad is socked. I washed them at LEAST 1 a day before I purchased 4. All were washed at least daily and held up extremely well. THANK YOU FOR MAKING A QUALITY PRODUCT THAT IMPROVES LIVES.

Great solution for bed sores
I got this for my mother, who has the beginning of a bed sore on her ankle. Her doctor recommended we get either this, or a special padded booty to wear to bed. We tried the booties first and they were terrible. They either came off while she slept, or created a fall risk if she got up during the night. We considered genuine sheepskin, but the synthetic is much easier to clean and a lot less expensive. This solved the problem. By the way, if you or someone you know has bed sores on the ankle, they also need loose socks during the day instead of regular socks. Special diabetic socks are inexpensive and are designed to give warmth without tightness.

I like it but it is not a sheepskin
I have had to stay in a nursing home recently and keep my foot elevated. They want me to take blood thinners and I got a bad bruise over my coccyx. They have hard mattresses and no pads, so I bought one of these pads out of self defense.First thing I noticed was that it was shedding all around the edges. This is a woven product with fleece and they have not whipped an edge on it (like they do with knit clothing, for example) so the edge disassembles from friction. Had they finished the edge with a serger, I would have given the item 5 stars, but since it is just a cut piece of fleece, that cost it a star.I have owned a real sheepskin and this is not one. But it has provided excellent padding, and the bruise on my coccyx is healing nicely.I am happy that it is washable and happy that it is soft. I wish it was as soft as a real sheepskin and as unwashable. But it was inexpensive and the treatment for a bedsore would have been way more expensive than this fleece.

Keeps my bunny’s bum dry and liquid goes down to puppy pad. Easy clean up and washer friendly
Great for my disabled rabbit. Only Sherpa I like that keeps her dry. After washing it I don’t need to throw it in the dryer since it comes out mostly dry.

Great for elderly rabbit or other pets
I have an elderly rabbit that needs softer bedding and this works great! The veterinarian recommended sheepskin to keep her from getting her feet sore but glad I found this synthetic version that's cruelty free. Highly recommend.

Not as soft as the real thing. Feels synthetic.
I like the price point and size of the pad. I was however disappointed in the softness and feel. I have had real sheepskin pads before and this does not compare. I am not using this as a medical pad...so I can not comment on that usage. I am using this to make my own crocs blitzen lining inserts as replacements are not available. I think the washability of this sheepette pad will do well for what Im using it for. Liquid passes right thru and does not hold on to moisture so washing should be a breeze. Time will tell how well the "fur" stays soft, fluffy and warm on my feet.

Made an amazing difference for hospice patient!
Purchased for someone confined to bed who was having redness and imminent skin breakdown on their back; after placing on the bed, and with good skin care, all healed within two to three days. As a nurse, I found this amazing. I didn’t want to purchase real sheepskin for personal reasons but would have if this were not available in order to help this skin condition, which would’ve eventually impacted every organ system. Very soft and comfortable and easy to wash/care for. Very impressed, please consider for any bedbound person. Thank you!
