At a medical research facility in Puerto Rico, daring neuroscientist Will Foster (Keanu Reeves) is on the verge of successfully transferring human consciousness into a robot when his family is tragically killed in a car crash. Not wanting to say goodbye to his wife (Alice Eve) and three children, Will recruits his colleague Ed (Thomas Middleditch) on an audacious mission to preserve their minds and transfer them into secretly-grown clone bodies... Soon discovering that playing God has its downsides, Will battles against the clock and the physical laws of science themselves to resurrect his loving family. When success appears to be within reach, Will finds himself pitted against a sinister government-controlled laboratory and a shady police task force who will stop at nothing to find the key to the incredible scientific breakthrough... Offering a fresh take on the Frankenstein myth, Replicas is a taut and action-packed sci-fi thriller about family, loss and the dangerous questions surrounding emerging scientific technologies. Starring Keanu Reeves (The John Wick Franchise, The Matrix), Alice Eve (Star Trek: Into Darkness), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley) and John Ortiz (Kong: Skull Island). Directed by Jeffery Nachmanoff (The Day After Tomorrow) and produced by Stephen Hamel (Passengers), Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Constantine, Transformers), Keanu Reeves, Luis Riefkohl and Mark Gao.

'WILL FOSTER' RISKS ALL TO GET HIS FAMILY BACK
This is a film that has received many negative reviews from critics and reviewers alike....what I can say is that it's a sci-fi fantasy that is certainly far-fetched and has many unexplained moments, however,The film tells of how Will Foster a synthetic biologist who is attempting to perfect the transfer of the mind of a dead soldier to an android, a project that has its problems...the management threatening to close the program down -Will takes his family on a boating trip, however, on the way the car is involved in a horrendous accident, Will (Keanu Reeves) survives but his wife Mona (Alice Eve) and children Matt (Emjay Anthony) Sophie (Emily Alyn Lind ) and youngest Zoe ( Emily Alyn Lind) die.Against all that is ethical Will with the help of friend and colleague Ed Whittle (Thomas Middleditch)at the research centre will with all the risks involved, attempt to bring his family back. The risk is great if they succeed against all odds, it would pit them against both the laboratory and indeed the law. This is a better watch than many suggest, I myself enjoyed it -I recommend giving the film a go, maybe catch it on a movie-channel (It can i believe be hired to watch on Prime)

Well worth a watch.
If you ever watched 'Transcendence', with Johnny Depp, then you will find yourself in the same league with this film. I would say ignore the highbrow reviews about right or wrong lead actor etc. and just sit back and enjoy a good/OK film. OK so it isn't fizzing at the seams with high tech, and gun fights and the like, but it has enough interesting, and thought provoking ideas to make you actually come away asking questions, or, like me, saying that was a four star film. Cliche? well maybe, dependant on your views of films in general, but what films aren't these days, and how many do you know that actually leave you with a thought of your own to cogitate?

A bucket full of cliche and poorly written dialogue.
Don't cast Keanu Reeves as a scientist, he can't play cerebral. He's a monosyllabic action hero who likes kicking ass and he's brilliant at that. John Wick is a shining testimony of how to make best use his limited range. The core of the story is fascinating; the question of the human soul, are we just a collection of memories dancing around our beautifully complex neural network, nothing more? The cast tries their best but it's a mess, how it got the studio green light only a handful know and they'll keep that a secret I'm sure. Watch 'Brainstorm' instead.

TO LONGzźźzzzzzzźzźzzzzzzxzz
The actual story is quite interesting a scientist tries to put dead peoples mind into machines etc , His family is killed ,he clones them etc His experiments arn.t for what he thought? L personally found the film long ,the special effects (the virtual reality effect were good for 5mins got monotonous ) ,l m 55yrs old in fairness l find this sort of thing boring ,maybe if younger maybe find more interesting. L,d give 1& half only .

Disappointing, with many loose ends left unexplained
A promising concept, but badly let down by the storyline. The most believable character was the robot 345, with the personality rejecting the robot body. As the film progresses, the unbelievability mounts up - how does a complete family with school & work & friendship commitments just disappear for nearly 3 weeks with no questions asked? Just try to imagine going missing in real life and on social media without a thousand questions being asked, not least because of the complete disappearance of the youngest child .... And as for security at the super-secret research lab... the apparent ease with which 8 million dollars worth of equipment goes missing? Really??I started by awarding this film 3 stars, but reluctantly ended up reducing it to 2 - just too many unexplained loose ends.

Average sci fi!!
A pretty average film, Reeves is not the best actor in the world imho best film he ever did was , wait for it, yep you guessed it, Point Break, a pretty much forgettable film, not very good acting by any of the cast really, passed an otherwise boring evening and that's about it, I would not rush to buy this at any rate, unless you are a massive Keanu Reeves fan!!!

Are you negotiating with yourself whether to watch this movie or not?
Family conveniently dies in a (could see this coming a mile off) car crash (driving in torrential rain, so dark even with headlights on, even William Foster's Wife, Eva states "maybe we should pull up". This crucial scene all designed to tug at audience heart strings/make an emotional connection). Later audience will learn that the car crush was set up in a shocking plot twist, just so our neuroscientist protagonist (after getting this gut wrenching PUSH] was motivated (by love, ego or both?), to carry out mad scientist cloning theories to see if all those theoretical algorithmic algebraic equations work out in practice on humans. Yet audience knows it has to work because after all, this is Keanu aka The One. For me, there were some awkward comedic elements during the interactions between Ed (fellow neuroscientist) and William immediately after the fatal crash and during the 17 day incubation period of the replicas. How convenient of the replicas to start having memories (especially Eva), of their unicorn drawing Daughter Zoe, despite William deleting those pathway connections (LOL). In parts this movie reminded me of Johnny Depp's 2014 movie Transcendence and definitely Keenu Reeves' 1995 Movie Johnny Mnenomic. Writers tried to give this movie a shocking twist (spoiler alert: Williams employed by a bogus company) which only adds to the movie's absurdity. Memorable lines: Delivered by (bogus boss with bogus surname of Jones) says to William "Are you negotiating"? Even more memorable is the conversation Williams has with his synthetic clone self (Subject 345) towards the end of this movie: Williams: "What does it feel like"? Subject 345: "This is going to sound strange but it feels like me". Yes, Keanu aka Williams is robotic but very intelligent and laughing all the way to the bank...
