The battery charged to 8.3 volts; that's also a good thing. The battery goes on an iCOM A14 handheld air band VHF radio. I use it for an emergency radio back up when I fly single engine airplanes, and as the primary radio when I fly gliders. These batteries will go bad from shelf time in a few years. I purchased this battery expecting my current battery to fail soon from shelf time.
