Very sturdy. I don't know how some reviews said this broke while using it. I seriously doubt that. Its very sharp and uses the leveraging of physics that would make a profesor proud. Update 7/14/26: I wanted to continue to share my thoughts on this tool, which continues to impress me—it has already easily paid for itself. I noticed a review mentioning that the curved bottom blade makes it difficult to get branches into the opening. In my experience, the benefit of this design is that once a branch is inside the cavity, it is locked in and guaranteed to be cut. While using it is a learned skill, it easily cuts branches up to 1 inch in diameter.

It is very satisfying to use this product. I am over 70 so made note of the ease of use with taking down and trimming a number of and variety of shrubs and limb sizes. Once you grip the branch it will come off.

These are really worth the investment. For years I was straining my gut trying to cut ~1-inch branches with smaller loppers that claimed they could cut 1-inch branches but required way too much force. Other times I'd get out the saw, which was tedious. These Fiskars 32-inch loppers make the job fast, easy and strain-free. I'm not sure how long they'll last, and I thought it was weird that they arrived with no tags or usage/care instructions. Also as another reviewer noted, it will often be difficult to get these long loppers in position for the cut if you're surrounded by branches in every direction. So far through limited use, I'm very satisfied and strongly recommend them.

I bought these for my wife so she could have a second pair at camp. She said that even though they seem to be sturdier than the ones she already has, they're too heavy for her - so I returned it. No, I didn't get a chance to put it on a scale (sorry). But the PowerGear 1 loppers are really, really good and have been holding up for years. These, like the version 1s have a removable blade - and there are replacements available. I usually just sharpen them myself (single bevel as it's a bypass at 25 or 30 degrees). I don't think there are any better lopper out there, but I took one star off because she found them too heavy. She's not a big person, these would have been fine for me - but they weren't for me.

These are fantastic. You simply have to try them to believe. I bought a second set for my sister who is pretty wimpy and also very very cheap to replace the awful ratcheting one she got at some thrift store. She actually uses the things now instead of putting it off because it’s a pita. I bought her both the 32” and 18” loppers and want to add here that the 18” loppers is by far the most used ones. They’re powerful and compact and quicker to use on smaller stuff than the 32”. It’s actually pretty rare than I have to resort to the 32”. I may buy another set of the 18” so I have them in both my pickups.

Just f-ing wonderful for new yard work!!!! It’s beyond what I imagined. Why hasn’t anyone suggested these ever? They make cutting through small little trees and roots feels like cutting through butter. It’s saved days of work cutting vines, roots, and tree limbs and trees!
