Easy Setup, Reliable (so far)
First I tried a wireless HDMI kit (IOGEAR GW3DHDKIT) but performance was spotty. There were occasional breaks in audio, and some pixellation. It also required occasional rebooting. Then I stumbled onto this product so I thought, hey, let's give it a try. Well, I am glad I did. So far after one day it has been flawless. Setup was simple, transmitter and receiver are clearly marked, as are the inputs and outputs.Transmitter is in master bedroom closet, about 30 feet from receiver. Receiver is behind a wall-mounted TV. IR blaster works fine too. I am quite satisfied with this setup and hope it continues to work as well as it has thus far.One reviewer had a problem figuring out the IR blaster, but if you have ever used one before it is very intuitive to know which is TX and which is RX. Manual, schmanual. If you are at all logically inclined you will have no trouble with this.My only complaint, if you can call it that, is they could have included an HDMI cable (as the IOGEAR product did). In my case I ended up ordering a couple of 1.5' HDMI cables so it didn't really matter but it seems like they could provide that for the price of this gizmo.Don't know what else to say about it. It just WORKS!

Great, I'm going to get 2 systems for this ...
Besides the large AV system, I have a few small TVs which I'm slowly trying to convert to HD inputs. In some cases, I've been able to run HDMI cable through walls. There's wall, though, where that could not be done. A coax wire was already running to the TV in that room. This product has worked perfectly since installation a few days ago.The two minor problems were both my own fault. First of all, I saw 4 items in the product page. Great, I'm going to get 2 systems for this price. I didn't stop to realize that was a front and a rear view of the one and only one pair was I was going to receive. That's not the seller's fault. That's mine. Second, I didn't stop to notice that it's not a simple screw in coax connection. I did find some obscenely expensive screw to BCN converters at Radio Shack. (If you're going to purchase these, do note that they're much cheaper here on Amazon).Once everything was connected, the signal worked perfectly. Granted, it's a 22 inch screen, not a huge one but on that small screen, the signal is perfect and DirecTV doesn't send me the "this is not an HDMI unit" message. So all-in-all, I'm happy with this and may purchase another so that I can stop using the undependable wireless HDMI going to my screen porch TV.

They didn't work for me.
I planned to expand my HDMI signals in my home but wanted to avoid running heavy HDMI cable through walls and ceilings. I already have RG6 cables throughout my home. These seemed like a good option and my runs are 40 feet or less. Unfortunately these don't work. The 'manual' that came with them was minimal and of little help. I tried every variation of connections from my DVR, a DVD player and several brands of flat panel TVs. Nothing. I tried using different RG6 cables including a 5 foot RG6 cable that Direct TV left at my house. I bought a cable tester. All the cables tested good. There are no splitters or connectors. They just don't work. I was delayed in my installation and the seller refused to let me return them. They offered to help trouble shoot but then didn't respond to me after I gave them my information. I asked about the manufacturer's warranty as it was less than 6 months and didn't get a response. It appears that this company may be the manufacturer or the distributor of these items. I can't tell from the information provided. If you buy these you need to install or test them immediately.

Def works
Well I'll be! Thing actually works! As mentioned, their directions are worthless. The thing that almost made me trash this balun as junk was improper resolution between source device and display. Choosing the right resolution of my source was the ticket! In my case the source was my security camera dvr which had several resolutions to choose from. It had to be on the 720 res setting and not 1080 or any other res. Very picky balun in that way, but you can do it. It will work. Oddly Direct TV at highest res (1080) transmitted without a hitch but the camera dvr although with 1080 capability HDMI out would only display at the 720 res. It's as if the direct tv pumped out a better signal. Go figure. I'm sure there's an explanation. I was pulling my hair out though trying to understand why direct tv would transmit at 1080 but the dvr wouldn't. All I know is it works great at the DVRs 720 setting and a hecka lot better than the old fuzzy analog picture using the dvr's RCA video outputs. Again, I couldn't adjust the res on my displays (all my Samsung displays from 24"-52" have a fixed/non-adjustable picture resolution). I would bet that most other conventional source devices like BD, DVD appleTV, Roku, etc would've been more of a plug and play setup. Anyhow, aside from the vendor sending me 3V power-supplies with Un-useable EU style plugs, I have no complaints and would buy another HDMI-coax-HDMI balun without reservation. Not thrilled with the price though. The vendor (God knows where they're located) was responsive via email only...hmmm.....and will be replacing the two included power supplies with Usa style plugs/prongs. Words of wisdom, If I was doing a house renovation and back down to stud again, I would've wired 3 coax and 3 cat-5 to every location all over the house....to doors and windows for security and automated devices, to your HVAC closets, AV closets, garage shed, l and of course to all your display locations. Coax using solid core copper can balun with pretty much anything these days and makes an excellent long distance cable . Ez to pull and cheap. Pulling sensitive quality HDMI cables 30-100 feet is not only cost prohibitive but bulky and heavy as well as non-adjustable. Hate em. Lost so many HDMI cables when sheet rockers and HVAC guys disrespected the cabling. And I fought to protect them. Thank goodness I ran 2 coax to each location and now I'm able to achieve hi-def viewing because of this pricey although reliable little gadget.
