The HON Company HONCMS1AACCF10 HON Convergence Task Computer Chair for Office Desk, Black (HCAT1MM), Mesh Back/Fabric

We moved after we purchased our previous $1,000 Steelcase Leap chair and it was too big for our new home and desk, but we kept it because it was so expensive. When the Leap chair died (after 17 years), we decided to go cheap. After trying a bunch of <$200 chairs in showrooms, I ordered the Hon Convergence. The seat cushion is ample, substantial, and firm. The arms move up and down and can be adjusted wider or narrower. The chair feels very stable. I gave it 4 stars for sturdiness and comfort because it's not as sturdy or comfortable as our Leap chair, but both my 6'3" husband and I at 5'3" find the chair very comfortable and it's way better looking than the Leap.

My previous HON office chair lasted for 15+ years and was still going strong.This recent replacement made it 35 days of light use (just an hour or two a day) before the thin fabric covering the base tore - see pic.For $150 hope it would have lasted at least 3 months :(

So we ordered three separate chairs from Hon to determine what we wanted to do for our conference room table. This one was by far my favorite. The lumbar support is great, and I prefer the normal recline this has as opposed to the enhanced recline that the other products have. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's not a high back, so aesthetically, it doesn't look fantastic in my opinion.

After being bewildered by the reviews of office chairs, it seeming that reviews are always split, I went around our office and surveyed the different chairs we were using. In our offices we have chairs that are used at individual work stations and in conference rooms. We have many types and brands of chairs and what I looked at was which ones had held up and where comfortable. This hon chair was the clear winner, we had these in our training room and in some offices and they seemed extremely durable and still comfortable after almost at least 2 years of everyday use. I found assembly not difficult and the chair arrived in good condition. Highly recommended.

If this chair was Made in USA, it would be a great value. However, HON moved their chair production to Mexico, which means it has to compete with all the other foreign made chairs. That makes the chair overpriced for what it is; a basic office chair. If looking at this chair, and don't care where it is made, you might as well get one from a big box seller. You will find cheaper chairs there. As for me, I wanted Made in USA so I gave this away (I didn't have the time to send it back) and replaced it with a Made in USA Lorell Vevo chair. I contacted the seller to have them change the description but they have not. Which means that they are violating US law regarding Made in USA products now.

We have two of these chairs in the house, both at computer desks. These chairs are very comfortable and have wide, well-cushioned seats. Took me 10 minutes to assemble. Very good chair. HON office furniture is always well built and sturdy - partly the reason why HON chairs are a little more expensive than many of the less known brands.

Nice chair other than two issues. It is missing all of the screws needed to attach the arms. The other downside is that it is very heavy. Other than that it looks nice and is comfortable.

This chair is very comfortable and sturdy. Adjustable height and arms. It takes about 15 minutes to put together. Good customer service. First one arrived damaged and was replaced no questions asked in a few days.
