Review: took some time but now our kitties love these! - Bought these hoping they'd help with dental health but our kitties totally ignored them ... for like 2 months. And then one day I heard a rattling, and I was like "what is she playing with, a pencil or sth?!" I had forgotten about these sticks honestly so I was very surprised to see kitty playing with one of these so vigorously. Both kitties love them now, months later. They race around playing with them but also actually do hold them in their paws and chew on them. See my pic, you can see they chewed all the "bark" off them or whatever. By and by they disappear -- I have no idea where they go -- so I get a new one out of the package for them to destroy and they love it. My one criticism is they seem a bit expensive. I do recommend them though, but give them time for kitties to get interested! It might take months like it did for me.

**Q: Is it made in China?**
A: According to the label the vines are packaged in the USA. It does not specify where the vines come from just that the plants are native to the mountains of East Asia. It also says Sustainably Farm Grown.

**Q: If my cat ingests the small bites they chew off are they going to be ok?**
A: Typically cats will not be able to break off large pieces because the sticks mostly squish when bitten down on hard. Small bits that do come off during normal chewing and playing are safe in moderation though. If your cat is a more aggressive chewer and does start to break off big pieces over time you should dispose of that particular stick and give them a fresh one. Like rawhide for a dog, they should mostly chew on the sticks and not ingest large amounts at once.  Always supervise closely if in doubt!

**Q: What essential oils were these covered with and where are they manufactured?**
A: Hello,

Our Matatabi sticks are completely unprocessed and only contain the essential oils that naturally occur in the silvervine plant! The essential oil is a natural attractant for cats similar what is found catnip. Nothing is added to them. The sticks are harvested at high elevations in Asia where the silvervine plant grows natively and quickly. The vines of the plant are cut back and plants are allowed to regrow to keep the entire process sustainable.

**Q: Are these USA made and packaged?**
A: They come from plants in east Asia (says so on back) and it is packaged in the US (also written on package)

My cat started attacking the package before I opened it. She went through 3 in a week. She's teething and this made her breath smell fresh. Spoiled kitty likes it to be held for her as she chews on it. As for the flavor - - I didn't try them myself and I cannot understand my cat's words. Wished they cost less, but they seem to go a long way. No complaints here.
