Spots and Dots (Art-Baby)

This book was a gift for a two-month-old baby. He was fascinated by the simple patterns and high contrast. He didn't seem to connect with the other baby books he received which showed pictures of people and animals. I noticed there is also a high-contrast mobile; I'd consider the mobile as a gift as well.

Our baby absolutely loves this book. The high contrast imagery grabbed her attention at two weeks old, and moving the book left to right helped develop her tracking very quickly, with her ability to focus without fussing increasing more every day. It's fascinating to watch her eyes as they move around the pages. Some recommended companion books I also suggest: Hello, Bugs! (Black and White Sparklers) Tummy Time Playboard + Art Cards

Though short and wordless, this book is amazing! If baby is about to cry or even in a full on fit, this book has the power to distract him back to civility. It is what I pack when we go out in public and stays by the nightstand at home. He is 5 months now and still loves it. Do your ears and nerves a favor and BUY THIS BOOK!

This is an awesome book. My 8 week old loves looking at it and “talks” to the book. High contrast books are excellent for a newborn’s development. It’s never to early to start reading to children. Even if the book had no words, they are learning how books are held and the direction that pages are turned.

This is my second time purchasing as a gift. First recipient was happy with the book.

We picked up a few different high-contrast board books for our kids when they were first born. From Day 1, they loved staring at the images, and could do so for hours on end! I picked this one up for an Easter gift, and it was equally engaging for their adjusting eyes. I knocked off one star because it's tiny! I wouldn't buy it again - I'd go with Hello, Bugs! and/or Hello, Animals! instead.

This book is exactly what I was looking for. It's surprisingly hard to find books for infants that don't have any words in them. The images are engaging and just the right amount of stimulation. My book arrived with slight damage to the cover and they immediately shipped me a replacement. Very pleased with both the book and the customer service. I'll be ordering the stars and hearts version as well.

You cannot go wrong with this book for newborns.
