Wow - it's great
I'm an old man of 87 and have been building wooden kits for almost 80 of those years. I've seen a lot of kits in my years and this is one of the best I've seen. The engineering, manufacturing and packaging are superb. Everything fits. The parts are easy to press out of their sheet of plywood. All parts are numbered and laser cut perfectly. The instruction manual is all pictures - no words, but it's fully understandable. No problematic translations here. They give you a little piece of sandpaper and that's all you need. The laser cutting is almost prefect. I did paint the sub assembles and glue a few key parts. But that is my choice. No finishing is needed for this kit. This kit is not an overnight project for the uninitiated but it actually goes together quite easily. I used tweezers and a small hammer as tools . Try one - you'll like it.

Follow illustrations carefully!
The ball size or smaller than shown! What this means is two go into lift at each step. While this doesn't cause it to stall just think it gives it appearance of not working correctly.Spent about 4 non consecutive hours. A few mistakes i found i made do to not interpreting diagrams. Biggest was assembling large drive, lift wheel, parts 23,24 reversed. Took a little skill to remove from finished assembly. Removed shaft, lifted out, dropped washers. Replacement i position over shaft added drop of super glue to edge of washer to maintain alignment of holes, placed back into machine then gently put shaft back in. Now working. Symptom was balls would not exit gear wheel pitched in not out.Found it easiest to lay out parts needed for each stage. Small subassembly i used post it notes to label “L, M,N,O,P,Q.....etc” to easily find when doing track.

Great grandparent-grandchild joint project
My 5-year-old grandson and I assembled the Marble Run. I provided direction per the instructions, he punched the parts and put them together, I made sure the parts were properly oriented and provided extra muscle for the tighter joints. Took us about 6 hours over 4 sessions. We had great fun, and he's very pleased with the finished product.Clever and well thought-out design. Very nice to have cleanly laser-cut parts.Suggestions if you are planning to build this... A hobby knife is helpful for separating some of the parts. We needed a bit of medium cyanoacrylate glue to keep the "escalator" section from coming apart (some of the joints weren't tight enough to hold it together). Also needed CA glue to keep the top of the spiral in place (seems like there should be a slot at the top of the spiral support, but there isn't). Turning the crank can cause the nuts to loosen; a little thread lock solves that problem.

I really enjoyed building this. 3 starts for "easy to assemble" - It's not supposed be too easy!
The instructions are very good. My advise would be to take your time, and only punch out the pieces needed for each step as you assemble each step. The laser precision that these pieces are cut with is incredible. It does take some force to connect the pieces, but do 2 things as you push things together. Wiggle it back and forth, don't push too hard that you might break a piece, and make SURE that the two pieces are FULLY seated together (OK that is 3 things actually!)I watched a YouTube video of someone that had put theirs together and it looked really wobbly. I almost didn't purchase it after seeing that video, but thankfully my wife convinced me that I would enjoy putting it together regardless. Let me say that when I was done it is NOT wobbly at all. That's why I say you want to make sure each connection is fully seated together. I have a feeling that makes a big difference in the sturdiness.I didn't track my time putting it together, but I think I spent about 8 hours total over 2 days putting this together. I took my time and was very careful. I did break one of the pieces and it was a supporting piece that didn't have a duplicate. I was able to split it together with a couple drops of wood glue and some of the unused wood from the stencils. That little mishap occurred when I was getting close to the end of the project and I was starting to get excited and was hurrying to get done. DON'T RUSH IT the best part of this is putting it together - enjoy that time!I will definitely be purchasing another one for a future rainy day project.

Perfect with My Grandson
I gave this to my 14 yr old grandson, and we spent the day (about 6 hours) building this together. Tho we built it together, he was the one who did the assembly while I punched out the pieces and did a tiny bit of sanding with the square of sandpaper provided in the kit. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The pieces were easy to remove. Contrary to other comments I read, no other tools were required and no glue was needed. The pieces fit tightly, sometimes needed a bit of force to connect, but that's what keeps them together. When we finished, the whole family gathered to watch the marbles roll. I'm already figuring out which ROKr "puzzle" I want to give him at the next occasion. It was great fun building it together, but he was capable of building it himself.

Love this! So much fun!
I had an absolute blast putting this together and I fully intend to buy something else from this company. It took me 5-6 hour or so to complete. A few of the instructions were a little challenging to figure out what was being asked, but there were online videos you could reference for those steps. There were extra pieces when I was done, but as far as I can tell that was to be expected based on parts that might break that you might need to replace later as it all works and fit together quite snuggly. There is only one piece of track I might glue down as it pops up occasionally.

Excellent model, very good laser cutting
A fun to build model, very precise. I stained some of the parts using water based acrylic stains to give the model more contrast. I have ordered a small electric motor from Amazon that I will install later. I will post another review when I have installed the motor with details about the motor and instructions.

Genius! - Highly Recommended
It took me about 5 hours to build this- I was in no hurry. I am amazed at the precision and how well designed and constructed this is.My daughter asked if she could have it so she could one day give it to her kids saying your granddad made this. I instantly loved this idea. All of the pieces fit together with incredible precision and accuracy. I did need a spot of glue in a few places but that was just part of the fun.If you get this, and I highly recommend you do, be patient. Remove all of the pieces very slowly from the templates. If you go slow you will not break anything. The instructions are perfect. No words, just illustrations and that's all that was needed.Huge kudos to the designers of this 3-d puzzle.

Very cool. Painful to remove from cutouts
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Let’s make something clear. The assembly time is 50% removing the wooden pieces from the cutouts. 25% interpreting the instructions, and 25% actual assembly. This is a really cool kit, but the wood is flaky dainty balsa-ish stuff that you must be feather gentle with. Does include random Extra pieces.

Great DIY project
If you're a hands on crafty type of person, this is a great set! Laser cut pieces were clean and I only needed to use a box cutter to take pieces out of the sheets. No glue used at all. and all pieces fit together nicely. Definitely use the wax provided liberally for the gears portions of the project. if your steps are sticky/blocked, apply more wax. Once I got things working smoothly my 5 yo has no issues turning the gears/working the steps as they should NOT be sticking. It's been over a month and haven't had to reapply any wax or anything like that.Super happy with this set an will be getting another in the future!

High quality kit with clear instructions to make a functioning marble run.
This is a high quality laser cut kit. The instructions are very good and clear. The pieces come free from the sheets and the supplied sandpaper makes it easy to clear the burrs. I found that a needle nose plier could be helpful at times. As I assembled I tested the marble travel and adjusted at each step. That made the final adjustment a lot easier. The laser cut is very precise which makes the whole kit a real pleasure to work with. In a nutshell this is an enjoyable kit to put together.
