I've been using Stardot cameras since 1999 and run several at various sites. They've been great although I'm a little disappointed with the NetcamLive. I have 2 complaints. First, the available resolutions are very limited. You can use 640X360 (too small for me) or the next step 1280X720 (too big for me). There is nothing in between like my other Stardot cameras. I run my other cameras at a 1024 width but that is not available on the NetcamLive. The second problem is the clarity of the image when you go higher than 640X360. I spent a whole afternoon in my yard trying to focus a 720p image. I've focused Stardot cameras many times in the past but could not get an acceptably sharp 720p image on this camera. I finally had to give up and use the camera at 640X360. At that resolution it looks great but it's smaller than I'd like..Like all the Stardot cameras it is very easy to setup and the reliability is fantastic. I've been running my NetcamLive since May without a hickup and my other cameras operate through frigid winters and very harsh weather without any attention. The Youtube setup was easy and works well. I'll continue to use Stardot cameras but unless they improve the NetcamLive I'll probably get another Netcam SC h.264 and stream through a 3rd party service instead of Youtube. The Netcam SC h.264 has 17 resolution options while the NetcamLive has only 5 with none between 640X360 and 1280X720.

This is my second StarDot camera and I love it! It truly was a super easy breeze to set the camera up. The instructions are well thought and clear. The camera is high quality and depending on your internet speed, it delivers a fantastic image. However, be aware of a few items. First, the camera is not weatherproof. An external weatherproof case is required, and the cost ranges between $130 - $160 plus the cost of the mounting bracket adding at least $200 extra to the cost of the camera. Second, you will need a DVD drive to configure the camera. I would have given StarDot 5 stars but have to deduct a star for lack of disclosure on the cost for the additional hardware.
