Works well when it works!!
Nice sturdy construction and good brush skirt. Wand spray coupling to unit connection very easy and solid. When working, I cut my 6 hr cleaning by hand job down to 30 mins. Great deep cleaning and ease of use. However, after my second use, and trying to use it on third time, the spray arm would not rotate with water pressure going thru unit. It would freely spin by hand, no resistance, but when water pressure was applied, water would come out of jets at pressure, but unit arm would not rotate in any position I placed the unit horizontally. If I pumped the wand handle trigger, I could get only 1/8th turn at a time. Not sure why this is happening. I contacted Simpson and they sent me a replacement immediately.

No Brainer
For any large surface like a driveway or patio, these are well worth the money even as a single use item. They will indeed do the job 4 times faster. I did my driveway and sidewalks as well as my neighbors sidewalks in under 4 hours with this guy. And with much better results than a wand. After reading a number of bad reviews with very limited background as to the competence of the operator, I found a few good reviews from individuals who showed some common sense and knowledge. Having read those I had the confidence to go with the Simpson over the cheaper plasticy models at a similar price point. Glad I did. The metal housing is very nice. The brush around the edge is sturdy and it glides nicely and limits spray coming out. Before using it I did lube up the plastic bushings in the spinning nozzle with teflon lube, as I am well aware that is what gives out on the consumer priced versions. At one point I did get a clogged nozzle which was immediately obvious. Instead of burning up my pump and giving a bad review for both the pressure washer and the surface cleaner not spinning, I simply cleared the nozzle and kept going. The nature of these tools require attention and care with respect to not only to safe operation but also to what the tool is doing. I have not looked into a service kit yet as my bushings have not failed, my only suggestion to Simpson would be to ensure a service kit with new bushings and perhaps the related brass fittings are obviously immediately available. If you need to clean a large surface but don't want to pay for or store a commercial unit, you'd be stupid to not have one of these even if they need to be replaced after a few uses. If you are needing to do your driveway or a large surface, save yourself a sunburn and embarrassment in front of your neighbors trying to use a wand and get the right tool for the job.

Bought TWO - Neither worked properly
Highly disappointed - even after purchasing this TWICE. Bought a Simpson pressure washer and other accessories which are FANTASTIC and can't say enough about how happy I am with them. But this accessory was a big let-down. I was honestly a little leery at the 4.1-star reviews, but I figured someone didn't know what they were doing or, as I often do, thought that somehow I would beat the odds and get a working, functioning unit deserving of the 5 stars others have left. When it arrived, there were multiple layers of packing tape all over the bent and worn box (which had been shipped inside an outer shipping box). When I opened the box, the plastic bag surrounding the cleaning head had been badly crumpled and torn, so it was obvious it had been returned - likely more than once. When I attached it to the pressure washer, only one of the two spray heads emitted any water and only a small trickle at that - no high pressure at all. Disappointed that this "new" sprayer didn't work right out of the box. The instructions directed me to clean the nozzles with the included cleaning tool which I did several times. After fiddling with it for over an hour, the best I got was one head to spray and the other was dry as a bone - nothing. So I returned it and reordered another. I waited to return the first until the replacement arrived so as not to get the same, defective one again. The second one arrived and again, the box had been re-taped - definitely a red flag! When I opened it, everything looked great, though the plastic bag it came in was crumpled and torn, but not to the extent the first one had been. When I hooked it up to my new Simpson pressure washer, the spray nozzles put out a ton of water under pressure, but the arm wouldn't rotate! I removed the head and rotated the arm by hand and it spun around just fine with virtually no effort. That's what you want, right? But when I put it back under pressure, the arm just sat there, the nozzles shooting pressurized water, but without any movement of the arm at all. When I tried to clean with it, I got narrow stripes instead of one big circular cleaned surface. Again, I fiddled with it for about an hour, but no matter what I tried, the arm just wouldn't spin on it's own. So now this second one is going back, too! I don't appear to be the only one with this issue if you read through other reviews. I'm really disappointed because I've been so impressed with the other Simpson products I've purchased! I won't try this a third time - instead I'll buy another (higher rated, less expensive) brand of the same thing. Sorry, Simpson. I gave you a second chance, but you failed twice on this one. But I HIGHLY recommend your pressure washer! Wow! UPDATE- A few months later, I noticed the Kärcher brand surface cleaner go on sale at a price I couldn't refuse. WOW! What a difference! Worked beautifully out of the box and several times since. If you're in the market, definitely get a Simpson power washer (with a Honda engine), but get the Kärcher surface cleaner for it. It's plug and play with Simpson power washers (no adapters needed). Outstanding performance and no regrets.

Buy American Made
Read this to the end, American companies take care of their own! I was anxious to get this product, I wanted my sidewalks and driveway to look as good as my neighbors. I had purchased Simpson's 3200 psi gas driven pressure washer shortly after we purchased this home, which was just 10 years old, the first time I had ever had or used a pressure washer. My good neighbors told me about the surface cleaners they used, so I went to my favorite store online, Amazon (where I had purchased the American made pressure washer) and found a surface cleaner made by Simpson and hands down I purchased it. That damn thing worked awesome, I never thought that I could clean the sidewalks as clean as those around me were. The next day I went out, astonished had how clean the sidewalks were once they'd dried, just as clean as those were around me. Happy to get back at it and finish what I had left. I got it all hooked up, started the washer up, and the wands (whatever you call those things) wouldn't spin. PO'ed, I couldn't believe it, I was mad. My wife, who just loves to pour salt in the wound, asked if I had checked the reviews before I purchased it, saying she doesn't buy anything w/o looking at the reviews first (well good for you hon) Saying nothing I pulled up the reviews, on it and seen nothing but a single star on all of them and the same problem with them all. I thought about sending it back, but I could not believe an American product with these same issues would not fix them. So I called Simpson and explained to them what happened on my second day of using it. She had asked if I had tried to do, as the manual recommended to clean the small holes on each end, to clean them. I told her I had not, that I didn't think they would clog up within a few hours of use. She took down when and where I purchased it and so on, put me on hold for a couple and came back on and told me that they were sending me a new surface cleaner and I would get it in a few days and it did. In the mean time, I found a really tiny pin to put in the holes on each end to see if it was clogged up. I took it out, hooked it to the washer and put the water pressure to it and after a few seconds the baby started spinning to beat hell. I was able to finish the sidewalk with it working just great. They did not require me to send the first one back, so now I have 2. If I'd sent this back through Amazon I wouldn't have any, I doubt I'd have purchased another one from them. I'm more than happy to have purchased an American made product, who stand by their name and products!!!

Make sure it's all stainless steel.
This Simpsons surface cleaner has issues with motor spinning jets the jets clogg up althe time from cast iron design ! The cast iron inside rusting makes jets clogged up .they save 2 dollars instead of using stainless steel rod .u can't fix it ! And if you replace it with new cast iron it will rust again .for this reason I will never buy this brand again!

This is the one to buy.
A couple years ago I bought the Karcher surface cleaner and ended up returning it after the first use. If you tried to push it forward the front of it would dip down and drag on the concrete making it almost impossible to do. I would have to simultaneously lift up on the wand while pushing the cleaner forward which was extremely difficult to do. I thought maybe the angle was too direct so I added a wand extension but that didn't help. I would have to lift and push at the same time which made for crappy cleaning and it was difficut to do. The only real cleaning it did is when I drew it back toward me and even then the results were below average. The Karcher left circles of unclean concrete which you could only correct by unhooking the cleaner and using the spray attachments which defeated the whole purpose of having the surface cleaner in the first place. After I returned it I just figured they were all like that so I have just been using the spray attachments since then, which uses a ton of water plus takes a lot of time. I haven't used the pressure sprayer as often as I should because it took so long to clean. I have a huge back patio around my pool, driveway for a 3 car garage, and my house is on a corner so there is a double crapload of concrete here to clean. A couple days ago I was back at it with the pressure sprayer and I decided it was time to give a surface cleaner another go. I have a 3200 psi Simpson which is what the Karcher surface cleaner was rated for, but this time I decided to give the 3700 psi Simpson pressure cleaner a go. What a difference. This thing is the real deal. You can actually push it forward and it skims across the surface like it's supposed to do. It cleans without leaving the circular streaks. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and it makes cleaning a breeze. Today in 3 hours I did pretty much the same surface area as I had done the previous 2 days combined using a fraction of the water I had used. What used to take me a week will now take a couple days. If you are looking for a surface cleaner for your gas powered pressure sprayer this is the one.

Wish I knew about these years ago
This is such a time saver, I wish I knew about these years ago, I must have been living under a rock. This has cut my cleaning time by two thirds. What used to take me all day has cut my time down to about 3 hours to do my front porch, sidewalk, driveway, 2 rear patios and around the pool. All of which are concrete. Living in the south this is a twice a year ritual. With all the humidity we get a lot of mildew and algae buildup, especially the shaded areas. This works great and is simple to use. I am using it with a Generac 2800 psi pressure washer. For those that complain about it quitting to spin and threw out, the first thing you needed to do before even using it is take an Allen wrench and unscrew the spinner and remove and get a good waterproof grease that won’t harm o rings and lubricate it. That was the only thing I wish they had done at factory but it only takes 5 min to do this. I have not had one issue with mine by doing this. I would recommend doing this every so often. Mine spins nice and free. When I am finished cleaning I just rinse everything off with a wide fan nozzle and my concrete looks good as new. I have not had to spray on any pre cleaners at all on my concrete. I highly recommend the Simpson.

Didn’t work for us
Product worked nicely for first 15 minutes then started to clean only in small bandwidths leaving small spiral swirls all over our driveway. My husband tried different hoses and water outlets to see if we could make this work but all were unsuccessful. Had to return product. Maybe needs more water pressure than our hoses provided?

Power washer accessories
Bought this and it worked fine for a while, now one nozzle won’t function anymore and it’s useless. I tried unclogging it in many different recommended ways and still won’t spin. Went out and bought a Simoniz 15 inch cleaner and it is way better.

Very Efficient
Used this for the first time today on my 3000psi pressure washer. I should have bought one of these years ago. Made the job much tidier and quicker. Probably cut my time by 2/3rds. I would say it works as advertised.
