XLNT product....Square and Expanded Immediately
I needed to put acoustic foam on a Window...with the "points" pointing OUT...flat side pointing into my house.ie...soundproof the "outside". Absorb sound waves going thru the window. Whether it works or not...gimme a few days to install and assess.However...When searching for these foam "panels"...I did my research...- I knew 1 inch thick was a mistake - I bought 2 inch thick.- WAY too many reviews said "they didn't expand"....12 by 12 ..."none were square"...."don't waste your money"- I figured if they didn't expand...you get 'em wet...& wait 3 hours...as in the instruction...- If ALL 24 didn't expand...and were odd shapes...and horrible...I'd be surprised.So...I bought 24 of the black 2 inch x 12 inch x 12 inch for 47 bux...about 2 dollars a square foot. They turned out PERFECTLY.....out of the box...out of the air-tight plastic...they ALL EXPANDED IMMEDIATELY.Every one is SQUARE....I was worried at a level "10"...from the reviews..but MY experience was perfect. They look to be easily cut b/c I need a width of 4 foot 10 inches....and cut last ones to fit the height.I'm not adhering them to a wall...maybe 4 or 5 to themselves in a row....I bought some Gorilla Gluethat says it works on "Foam"...we'll see.Bottom line...all this stress reading about expansion and squareness didn't apply to MY order.Check out the picture....taken literally minutes after opening the air-tight packaging.Customer Cool10/23/18

Mostly aesthetics, some functionality (80/20)
Total Cost as Seen (additional products purchased): $123.63Build Time: 1.5 HoursI initially bought this product to help reduce the upstairs noise. My wife and I share the floor with three kids over three-bedroom spaces. Needless to say, it can get loud at times. In the center hall is where the office space is.Most reviews speak to the obvious: cheaply made, hard to stick to the wall and not very functional. Searching through the reviews, I was able to find two solutions which ended up solving all problems except one: pricing. I used black backboard and nailed it to the wall to create a landscape for the foam. Second step was applying double sided adhesive tape to the entire surface. Last, I sprayed 3M adhesive on each tile one at a time working from top to bottom, inside to out. It’s been a week now and zero issues, still in place.Packaging: Item arrived in a vacuum sealed package. Once open, I followed the instructions to wait 24 hours before application. Every foam tile completely expanded with zero issues. Everything was cut correctly with no misshapen tiles present.Functionality: As a tester, I can see how this solution would benefit an entire space, ceiling to floor. There’s just not enough foam on the wall to hear much of a difference. As I don’t own a device to test decibel levels, there’s no comparison model.Aesthetic: I bought the all-black foam tiles. Looking at it now, I would have bought the off color (red and black) as it would have better suited the computer setup. A minor gripe really. It makes a huge difference in the space. The pictures say it all.Price: What you see is what wall coverage looks like with this pack. 24 sq ft isn’t a whole lot of coverage. There are a few other manufacturers selling similar items for cheaper. Just a considerationI’ve included links to the other products I bought to make this project a success. You will know if you want to purchase this after this review
If you dont want to read a long review just read the last sentence. So as a music producer I've done a lot of research and read all the reviews on this product. I have also bought different foams from other companies and this is what I have to say about this product.I was concerned if the foams would not expand to its full size but MOST of the foams did and some remained looking squished. But I figured that there was some sort of chemical adhesive that kept the product compressed because it has a strong fume to it and it felt kinda slimy? I dont know how to describe what it felt like but it felt like there was chemicals on it. So I washed all the foams in the tub with warm water (I've also read online that running them in water will help them expand). After draining it, some corners of the foams still remained squished but I gently spread them apart until it was undone and it ended up looking great. Now, for the quality. The foams are really soft and flimsy. I can squeeze them very easily compared to other foams that I have bought. They feel pretty cheap but I guess its not bad for the price. The foam does treat my room well but not at a professional level (I mean they are cheap foams) but it gets the job done.So overall I didnt give it 5 stars because it made me go through some labor washing them, quality was okay, but it gets the job done and its good for the price.
