I bought this journal as a record book for D&D and wanted double clasps for effect. I was happily surprised.While the cover details are machine pressed, it appears very similar to the pictures. Instead of raw leather, like similar products, the Anuent journal has a glued-in black liner that appears to be canvas. The smell of the glue might be off-putting to some; however, a little fresh air exposure dissipates it rapidly. The edges are not finished (the raw leather shows as a stark pinkish-white) but a bit of leather conditioner and a Q-tip makes short work of that little detail.
